Sep 21, 2018 Yeah honestly not rewatching this I think. It was very cool for the 1st time but the only thing good about it (for me) is the surprise/scares etc. So a second time thats gone and its just.. sorry.. a boring movie to me lol. Still need to see the rmk how is that??

Sep 22, 2018 I don't know what the consensus here is on horror legend, Dario Argento, but they're doing a retrospective here in NYC and I caught his 1987 film, Opera, last night. In much of Argento's work, one has to take the campy and ludicrous with the brilliant and inspired, and that contrast is especially acute here. Throughout Opera, there are a number of elaborate set pieces with Argento's constantly roving camera that are quite clearly the work of a horror master. However, these incredible sequences are immediately followed by scenes of half-assed plotting and absurd character behavior, with the denouement being the worst offender. For many, these moments may understandably undercut some of the movie's effectiveness, but for me it kind of added to the film's whiplash effect, moving from shocking to hilarious from one moment to the next. Suspiria probably remains my favorite Argento film overall (the moments of camp there feel more at home in the surreal, fairy tale world of that film, adding to its off-kilter atmosphere), but Opera is up there as well, and was flat-out a blast to watch in a theater. Oct 4, 2018 Couldn’t resist watching the new one minute preview clip. It’s not like I haven’t seen that scene in the trailers But I’m f---ing with the score heavy. And I think they didn’t go wrong with the warmer lighting. Idk. We’ve seen a lot of warm lighting so far, and I can dig it Couple shots bugged me tho, didn’t seem like a jump cut was nessecary, really hoping that two of them were left in for the preview n was cut from the film, but whatever

Oct 4, 2018 I’m hoping we’re getting thrown for some kind of loop with that one shot in the most recent trailer (not the preview) But with the track list being what it is I doubt that, so oh well. I totally seen it coming lmao Also wish I could’ve just gone to TIFF n got it over with, lol
