Eminem MMLP 2 > SSLP ?

    Now, let me say this, it's hard to use the word 'better', Because I'm not comparing impact, Em can't be more fresh or quote on quote "better" than in 2002, he peaked with Lose yourself. I just enjoy MMLP2 more nowadays than some of his older stuff. I've been riding with Em since Day 1 but aside from Rock bottom and 'If I had' I don't listen to SSLP anymore, I just can't relate to it anymore, Shock Value is cool for 2 or 3 songs but a whole album ? I want content/substance or simply tell me something interesting. That#s why I'm into Kendrick, that's why I liked Love Story and that's why I liked MMLP2, it does a decent job at that. That's also the reason why Relapse was terrible to me aside from DejaVu and Beautiful. and maybe Stay Wide awake. Granted, the accents did a good job at ruining it for me. But the songwriting and content was awful. When I listened to 'Baphipes from Baghdad' I remember being like " Is this guy r-----ed ? Give me back my 16 dollars". I though Em was done. Then Recovery came, Em was back. It gets a lotta hate but at the time I have to admit that I enjoyed it, No love, Going through changes, Secduction, Talking 2 myself, good stuff.
    Looking bad, it had some flaws but it was not completely terrible.

    So now let's briefly analize MMLP2. Brainless, Beautiful Pain,Groundhog Day Legacy, Rhyme or Reason - These songs are way more enjoyable to me than almost anything on SSLP. And even MMLP - the only songs I still have on my phone are The Way I am, 'Who knew' and 'Marshall Mathers'. Yes those songs are timeless, he used to flow like water, effortlessly as h---, I get it. MMLP was raw and so unapologetic and impact-wise there's obviously no comparison to it. All I'm saying is I was contented with MMLP 2 and I like how Em has evolved, Guts over Fear is dope to me, back to that slow flow. I truly enjoy some of his new stuff way more. Is it the time gap ? Or because my mind caters to new music and wants to appreciate it ? Or Ii it because he seems more mature and hence it's more appealing to me now that I'm not a teen anymore ? I don't know. Probably a mix of everything. But lyrically and flow-weise Em hasn't declined that much, I just think he should slow down with the yelling. In conclusion I'ma say that MMLP2 made me listen to him again and I'm interested in what's coming next - although having no concrete expectations.

    I like MMLP2, but I disagree.

    However, well written without acting like a stan. Not sure how anyone could hate on this except for the title.

    Mmlp2 is Eminem's worst album by far. Every song on that album is bad/mediocre. Even Bad guy and Evil Twin s---. It's basically an old man stuttering over wack beats for more than an hour. Even Encore is so much better than it.

    Flow wise he has declined ALOT.
    I feel like right at this moment it could be mostly due to the production on sslp is obv outdated. Glad to see a thread titled this and not some blind EMINEM RIGHT NOW IS THE GOAT type s---. I prefer SSLP because nostalgia and i prefer the s--- he talked about then and the flow.

    Production, mixing and lyrics on MMLP have been done to perfection. MMLP2 is mediocre with a few gems. The production on MMLP2 leaves wanting and I feel he could have done a more cohesive album with a more focused sound.

    For example, what if he went in the direction of Bad Guy, Evil Twin, Brainless? An album like that would have a dark presence, shrouded in villainy and with shades of Slim Shady. I feel Survival, Berzerk and Stronger Than I Was took away from the album. They're either fun, party or crappy which takes away from that dark edginess. I think The Monster should have been on the deluxe edition and especially Survival. These song placements take away from MMLP2 and stopped it from what was going to be a good B+ album to a C+/B-

    Bad Guy and Evil Twin are absolutely amazing songs. Great lyrics and storytelling.

    Terrible productions with some horrid corny lines. I'd take Rainman over those songs any day

    I agree with you most of the time but disagree about mmlp2. Sure it's not better than average but you're really harsh here lol
