    Spatula Relapse is a masterpiece

    Jul 2, 2017
Yesterday I listened through the entire Relapse and Refill again. Now that's an amazing album. Incredibly fun, focused (you may argue the focus is on complete s--- content, but it's a focus nonetheless), and the overall atmosphere of the album is unmistakable. Definitely my favorite album and I enjoy every second of it. I feel bad for Eminem coming back from his hiatus sober with this masterpiece, only to be bashed for it and forced to change direction. He came up with a timeless masterpiece and nobody recognized it.

Started playing MMLP2 today and immediately got bored. I used to give it a pass, but I can't anymore. There's no atmosphere to the album, nothing makes sense, it's all over the place without a single focus point. No idea why it's called MMLP2. Supposedly once the songs started going "in that direction", he had to call it that, but I don't see a trace of MMLP direction in any of these songs. The writing is uninspired except in few bright points, like Bad Guy and highlights in Rap God, but overall the album has no purpose. Even worse that Bad Guy ends with "before you rest your case, better make sure you're packing a wallop", but he forgot to pack it. Seriously, Encore has aged better than MMLP2.

I'd like to say "f--- you" to every fan who contributed to Eminem switching directions from Relapse with their complaining and robbed me of Relapse 2.

It's not even about bad songs. None of the songs individually are particularly bad. But as an overall project, Encore which without a doubt has worse songs is overall a better album.

yeah I hear you, you mean encore was more "complete" and cohesive I guess and when you were listening to it , you could listen to the whole album because of how it was put even the bad songs like my first f---ing single LMAO

Agree with everything you said, but bad guy's first three verses are absolute trash and a disgrace to Stan tbh

No way. Bad Guy is a worthy sequel to Stan. He managed to pull off the impossible.

I feel this way about Recovery, myself. While is has overall better quality songs than Encore, Encore has more "listen-ability".

You implied that people disliking Relapse was why he eventually made MMLP2? If so, the sole reason he made MMLP2 was because of Royce and that f---ing EP of theirs. I made a thread about it awhile ago. Royce coming back into Ems life f---ing ruined Eminem. Still pisses me off to this day. I agree with you. MMLP2 is my least favorite album of his. I will say that he said this album is suppose to be a MMMP type album about where he is at in his life during that point. Anyway, f--- Royce and his s-----y rappity rap garbage influencing Em to make this album.

I didn't meant to imply people disliking Relapse directly caused MMLP2, but a chain of events after Recovery led to it. Maybe MMLP2 would have been made after Relapse 2 anyways, but I still wish we got Relapse 2.
