I agree with the majority of your points, most of which have always been my complaints about MMLP2. It's his most meaningless and forgettable album. Every other album he did had some kind of meaning or purpose for being recorded. With MMLP2 it felt like "well it's been three years since I released an album, better do something" The tracks are all over the place and were obviously from many different sessions over the course of his three year absence. You go from Survival, which was obviously recorded soon after (or maybe even during) the Recovery sessions, scrapped, but then thrown on this album, to Brainless, an obvious attempt at MMLP nostalgia, to the complete bs that he recorded with Rick Rubin. At least Relapse and Recovery had solid themes throughout and sounded like they were recorded within the span of a few months. And yes, Headlights was an amazing concept for a song. When I first heard about it I was expecting an absolute classic, a song that brings tears to my eyes on first listen. Instead it was just, okay. Even the album title: MMLP2. It was like he had nothing new to talk about, no new direction to go, so he figured "let's just say this is a sequel to my best album, might get people interested" Horrible move.

Only thing I don't agree with you on is I never thought MMLP2 was a classic. Always thought Recovery was far superior. I'll never forget my first listen to the album (when it leaked on SL in October 2013). By the time I got to So Far and he started rapping about pooping at McDonald's I was so angry and disappointed I started punching my computer desk.
