These songs expose Jay Z's lack of artistry and him just being a spitter

Song Cry had a sampled hook sung by Bobby Glenn, was produced and mixed by Just Blaze all Jay Z did was rap bars on the song

Eminem sung the hook on Mockingbird, produced and mixed the song as well as rapping on it

And forgetting Artistry for a second putting aside that Eminem is an Artist and sings, produces, mixes records, has performed and sung 90% of the hooks on his songs, makes experimental music non hip hop songs at times (Hailie's Song, I Remember, Twisted, Stronger Than I Was)

And that Jay Z just rhymes

Let's look at the subject matter of both songs

Mockingbird is about loving his daughter, struggles of parenting, giving his daughter the life he never had, his daughter meaning the world to him, his struggles with Kim. A love song about his daughter

Song Cry is based on Jay Z's insecurities in relationship with women theres a line in the song he raps about a female thinking he is ugly i found that so cringe worthy

Song Cry used to be my fav Jay-Z song when I was little I guess at the time The Blueprint was just released and I heard the song. Was listenin' to it on my mp3 player often when I was takin' the bus to go to school. But Mockingbird is one of those underrated Eminem songs. Pure honesty...

are you f---ing kidding me?

Mockingbird is a dreadful attempt at a "serious" Eminem song, much like Beautiful. Paper thin emotionally (does he say anything here that he didn't do better at an earlier time?), with a flat, monotonous delivery (as with much of Encore, he sounds like he might as well be asleep). Oh, and what a horrible ending - we get it, you have a heart but you've also still got a rascal's temper!! don't f--- with Daddy, haha ;D

Meanwhile Song Cry is one of the best songs on one of the best albums of one of the best rappers of all time and its depth clearly flew over your head entirely
