    Let's throw it back before Black Star, before Black on Both Sides. Now throw it all the way back to when all Mos Def had out was "Universal Magnetic" on vinyl.

    On October 26, 1997, the young NY emcee performed at the Fat Beats LA 1 Year Anniversary Party and tore the house down. Check out the footage as he brings out Talib Kweli to rock the stage with him.

    This is really interesting and cool to watch. You can tell that Talib Kweli is still a little bit underdeveloped as an MC/performer in this footage. His lyrics are great but his flow and delivery over the beat seems a little off at times. You can definitely see the progress he made between this period and the following years in his career as a performer and MC.

    I only recently got in to listening to their stuff. I wish I found out how great they were earlier.
