    2017 was one of the biggest years ever in terms of hip hop releases, with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem. Jay-Z, Future, Big Sean, Snoop Dogg, Young Thug and other established acts, as well as newcomers such as Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Pump, Lil Yachty, Lil Peep (may he rest in peace), Playboi Carti, XXXtentacion, 21 Savage, all releasing albums.

    That being said, there were quite a few dissapointments in 2017. Lil Yachty, who has been slowly becoming a cultural tour de force, and is one of the new schools biggest names, released the uninspired Teenage Emotions. Playboi Carti's debut, Playboi Carti was bland all around. The star studded follow up to A$APs Cozy Tapes was underwhelming. Big Sean & Metro Boomins collaboration, Double or Nothing failed all around. While a good idea on paper, Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho was aggressively average.

    My question here, is which album was most dissapointing?

    Teenage Emotions is what comes to mind at the moment. Dude came off of Lil Boat and Summer Songs 2 to only then release that trash album.

    This. It's tough though because Playboi Carti came off Magnolia and signing to A$AP to release his trash debut. Really wanted Teenage Emotions to be good tho.

    Playboi Carti is great

    Double or Nothing is exactly what I expected

    Huncho Jack is more-or-less what I expected, and it's grown on me a bit

    Cozy Tapes 2 is pretty garbage, and has only one song I like which is Raf. I wasn't expecting much from it after the first one though.

    I'd have to give it up to Teenage Emotions.

    You liked Playboi Carti? I'm surprised but yeah I think Teenage Emotions definitely takes the cake.
