May 13, 2022 Basically each song represent his therapy sessions and the idea of double disk is The Downs and The Breakthrough. It's his most personal album to date. Might not be for everybody as most of us expected the usual from him - Social, racial, political problems and black power but instead of talking about the outside, he choose the inside as Jay did with 4:44. Definetely not what I've expected but can't be mad about it either. it definetely caught me off guard
May 13, 2022 Okay even I've got to admit Mother I Sober would be really great if he'd have left himself and his Mom off the song
May 13, 2022 Why? This album deals a lot with personal grief, as does Kodak's music. He fits perfectly.
May 13, 2022 But I never said I didn't like it though did I ? I said I was disappointed in the album because it's personally not what I expected after 5 years. I honestly don't mind introspective stuff but I just felt a lot of this album wasn't to my taste, which surprised me because I f----- with all his albums. I will give it more listens though and hopefully I start to appreciate more tracks
May 13, 2022 I really don’t mind Kodak being all over the album. Honestly it doesn’t feel out of place at all. It fits beautifully. I’m gonna give the album another spin and hopefully more clicks with me. I do think the long wait after d--- was a detriment to this project. Expectations were way way way too high
May 13, 2022 Kodak's the perfect person to play that role on this album. I doubt most of the people criticizing him have listened to much of his music. On my second listen and it's already grown on me, but there's def some questionable songs on here.
May 13, 2022 This isn't aging very well but I'll give it another listen later. Should of put Eminem on it.
May 13, 2022 I don't know the songs super well yet but I remember liking: Rich Spirit Count Me Out Father Time Silent Hill Savior Will be able to tell you more accurately after another listen lol. What about you?
May 13, 2022 I will say one thing I can’t stand about Kendrick stans is that they always say if you don’t like something he drops, you just “don’t get it”… like no, sometimes sonically he makes some pretty terrible decisions… as do most artists.
May 13, 2022 Father Time, Savior, Mr. Morale, Mirror, Silent Hill I think Father Time will be the big one for most people. But a neat thing about this project is I think everyone is going to have a very different top 5 set of songs. about to do my second round, now that I’ve slept
May 13, 2022 I definitely don't love 100% of this after first listen, but I like enough of it to know I'll be pissed if Jack Harlow beats it in any award category
May 13, 2022 So Em need to scrap his album cause Kenny set the bar to high. s----s a classic. Savior a b-----r
