He had 5 or 6 songs that werent released that he wanted to put on the album that werent because of sample clearance issues. They wouldve knocked most of the unpopular songs off of MTBMB

Listening to that chain heavy beat really proves this.

    Kamikaze for sure.

Don't see how Murdered By was better...the music didn't even really fit the name, at all. It was just Recovery 2.0, a couple good tracks, and then some pseudo-relationship tracks with a twist lol.

People like it cuz the feats, meh, I thought the feats were boring on Murdered By. I'd take Royce on "Not Alike" compared to him on Murdered By. Royce's flow on "Not Alike" is sick.

Man...just listening to "Not Alike" again, Eminem sounds so much better here...like he felt he had purpose again. "The Ringer" is a d--- good introduction...and the album being so short adds to it tremendously. I don't skip any tracks on Kamikaze, I listen to it in the order it came out...I don't do the same with Murdered By, in fact, I haven't listened to the latter in a MINUTE.

Edit: the wordplay on Kamikaze is f---ing GODLY g.d. THIS MFer WAS ON SOME s---.

Yeah, but MTBMB is the first time he is confident enough to just flow on the beat without leaning on shouting to make the songs "big" and "spectacular" and "feel like something". MTBMB feel like something without this f---ing shouting.
Yes, the Ringer is masterpiece but he still screams a lot on such songs as Fall, Greatest, Venom, or Not Alike.
I like all of them and aggressiveness at least fits the album theme but I'd been tired of this trick. On MTBMB, he shows his true skill, being calm throughout the most of the album.

Kami is the easier listen. MTBMB has so much complexity. Yah Yah alone is a mind f--- of a verse.

for real, why he not just waited for them to be cleared or released them later as a bonus. I dont understand this

Its not like he announced the Album and had to push it back.

I will go wih Kamikaze. The whole Era was on another level
MTBMB is more melodic and i love this but the highs on kamikaze are to high for MTBMB highs

Eminem "The Beard" era is quite bad.

    3 bad/average albums in a row.
I do have some hope after The Cudi feature verse.

This. Also, if they cant clear the samples, release it as a different version like they did Hailies Song. Not that hard to do.

Kanye seems vee visionary. I imagine he wouldn't be happy unless it sounded exactly the way he wanted

Personally, I’d say MTBMB. If I just list the songs I like a lot from both albums and won’t automatically skip them when they come on, MTBMB has way more songs. One could argue there are higher highs on kamikaze but there are more listenable songs I enjoy on MTBMB. So basically it comes down to quantity imo so I give the nod to MTBMB. Plus MTBMB has a million references to the golden age of hip hop and being an old crusty dusthead, I love that s---.

These are the Kamikaze songs I like a lot:
    - The Ringer
    - Lucky You
    - Not Alike
    - Fall

These are the MTBMB songs I like a lot:
    - Premonition
    - Unaccommodating
    - You Gon’ Learn
    - Yah Yah
    - Marsh
    - Little Engine
    - Lock It Up
    - No Regrets
    - I Will

I love Darkness but that’s not something I want to listen to frequently so I left it off my list.

The Yah Yah verse is actually nuts. I think it's transitioned its way into my favourite on the album.

They were probably never going to be cleared or werent approved, these things happen. Chance waited years for the Juice sample to be cleared and it never happened so he had to release it anyways

MTBMB is more consistent beginning-to-end, but I listen to Kamikaze more because the songs on it I like most I prefer to the ones I like most on MTBMB (The Ringer, Lucky You, Not Alike, Fall, Stepping Stone).

For an Eminem album, it is short... (only 11 songs... his next shortest is 14 songs)... Venom also being tacked onto the end makes it feel thrown together for some reason.

Venom is such an underrated song. The hook is weird af lol but Em killed the verses.
