Jun 4, 2016 You beat me to it. But yeah, he'll more than likely be releasing a song for every notable person that unfortunately passes away.
Jun 4, 2016 Never been big on boxing but man was the guy a legend, was outspoken in politics and was supportive of the community. RIP Ali.
Jun 4, 2016 im probably a bigger ali fan than most guys my age/demo bracket... but i will say: its important to remember how close he hued to the black muslims at the time of his army induction. he adhered so much to them he rejected malcolm x - the icon/defining 20th century leader. michael manns biopic posited ali was always searching for father figures. i personally think his refusal to be inducted had more to do with his devotion to elijah muhammad - a young kid doing what his brothers wanted him to - then it evolved into the legendary statement appreciated (by most) today. its still important, for a myriad of ways, but alot of the tweets/coverage ive read today rly miss the humanity of the decision. and the obvious: ali could "afford" to not go while 47,000 americans died. its complicated also tbh: what he did to joe frazier was devastating. read ghosts of manilla
Jun 4, 2016 Pretty sure he has an Ali tat, right? I know he definitely has a Tyson one. Plus the whole Ali Bomaye single. At least this one makes sense.
Jun 4, 2016 can't say i was a big fan---he was so much before my time that i only saw some of his fights and what not. he definitely seemed like an inspirational guy though. i enjoyed his trash talk though-- he did it in a funny way
Jun 4, 2016 I have so much respect for this guy. A genuine master of his craft unparalleled by his peers. The voice of a generation that fought for civil liberties and stood up for the underprivileged. He truly was the Kanye West of boxing.
Jun 4, 2016 I know he didn't master two skills like rapping AND producing but the dude was a great boxer and deserves to be mentioned alongside the GOAT IMO
Jun 4, 2016 Heartbreaking news. One of the top two greatest athletes to ever live, and one of the most remarkable figures to ever grace such massive limelight. RIP to the GOAT.
Jun 4, 2016 GOAT and a God. I personally idolized this man, his confidence, his wisdom, his mannerisms, even his stubbornness. I don't know how I'm gonna break it to my grandfather who is a boxing fanatic (if he doesn't already know)
