Jul 17, 2017 clearly is tho if it's this acknowledged a term and constantly used to describe the same kind of rap and like, denying it's existence as a thing, doesn't suddenly make it not a thing lmfao
Jul 17, 2017 So you're proving the point I was making in our previous conversation about this lol. The stigma that southern hip-hop/trap music has is that its "uneducated music" and you're perpetuating that right now.
Jul 17, 2017 never said it was, and we weren't arguing over whether or not it is except it is? like literally, how are we even arguing that it's a phrase? it's been clearly established as one for quite a few years now and is widely used (whether you like it or not, or agree with it's usage/implications is irrelevant), it's still literally a thing ffs this is blatant denial m8. like holy s---
Jul 17, 2017 old heads that aint even old<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Jul 17, 2017 Rap was never made to be or will be primarily unintelligible. Mumbling or mumble rap is just a style of rapping these newer artist are using for people who don't care about bars or lyrics.
Jul 17, 2017 this is such an old head assumption lyrics are always going to be important it's just pushing the boundaries of flow, delivery or cadence it has nothing to do w/ lyrics what even is the distinction between bars and lyrics anyways lol
Jul 17, 2017 You could play NWA for someone that's 50+ years old and they would likely tell you the same thing: "you can't even understand them." You guys just sound really old rn.
Jul 17, 2017 this. what i think of "mumble rap" oh, so the realest artists in hip-hop have used drugs to cover up their traumatic emotions in order to express themselves confidently and without breaking down/having PTSD like flashbacks to events resurfacing from their childhood. because the content in their songs is so traumatic, that to rap about it without drugs it would become an emotional breakdown. like to me if you can say "i gangbang b------s, steal nintendo switches, give a b---- stitches" and they say it in like that gay a--- braggadocios way it's like mate you are a fa---- fanboy that wants to rap, so you begged your parents or some other s--- bag for a s--- career via their connections. to classify s--- as "mumble rap" says to me; ok, this person has never touched any drug in their life, has never been around friends drunk and doing drugs, doesn't understand the 'real world' outside of some "i go drink cofffee and go work everyday for my life for next 40 years" "mumble rap" is for us real ones that understand. one day you kiddies will join this club, or just go onto to be straight edge cucks. It's real hip hop, not that fake f---ing "me chiraq" kanye never ingest drugs west. Not that fake f---ing Drake h--- c----. Not that 90's/80's dust real s---. h---, none of that 50 cent "im high all da time" bs either. The realest of the real. Why do you think half of them are in and out of court, while Kendrick is trying his hardest to hint at him being a gangbanger, then going on to make 2 albums where he's literally a f---ing hobo going to visit kenyans or some s--- because they are needy. this. it's like when rap first started people were like "this is eugh. just, garbage. Honey, can you please turn off this degenerate gibberish?" because there are/were so many foreign words to "non-street" people (mainly so you could say "yeah i flip birds and i c--- my heater to delete ya" instead of admiting to a crime like "yes officers listening to this song, I sell illegal drugs, which is a criminal act and I also c--- my gun with intention to k--- people" . We've just moved on from that and evolved to the point where certain accents are the new slang. makes a real c---- like me go "f--- mate, this c---- off his guts on Molly, Xans, weed and alcohol. what a legend. he for sure commits illegal activites"
Jul 17, 2017 You just said in your previous post that it's just a dialectic/accent. and that because it's there voice it just is what it is, what do I want them to do etc. well... i'm simply going off that m8. draw whatever connections you like, but don't stray from that point on a random tangent. it's valid criticism still like, we really going to pretend that just because someone's voice sounds a certain way or they can't f---ing enunciate etc., they just get a pass because that's how it is? lmao. why would that get a pass? like, do I get a pass as a singer despite not being able to sing worth a s--- because that's just how my voice is? you gonna turn around and bump the latest william hung now m8? how many of you gonna be down to hear a rapper who stutters every other word, hmm? also i love how hypocritical this all is. like, for years now i've seen you and people like you criticize (and I hate to have to use this as an example but) eminem if he goes off beat, or raps with an accent, or is doing something with his voice you don't like, because it's bad. like this is literally just excuses m8, and bad ones at that. i know d--- well you and others like you have shat on people because of their voices or inability to flow properly or sound a certain way or another or be properly on beat yet trap artists get a pass because reasons lmfao foh
Jul 17, 2017 If lyrics are important, why would you say immediately after that the flow delivery and cadence will push the culture forward? 20 years from now I'm not gonna be like "oh man, the way he flowed on that was so amazing. I don't know what he was saying, but it's a classic!"
Jul 17, 2017 they're objectively no where near as important as they once were and arguing they are is pure delusion
Jul 17, 2017 @Cyreides read my post it's an explanation of sorts. just remember i typed it with a smirk on my face, so the information is there, just dig through the sarcastic c---- parts
