Dec 13, 2015 I don't know if anyone has ever posted anything like this, but I wanted to start a little challenge for whoever makes music on this forum. Challenge -Open up your DAW (music software) and start a new project. -Make a beat/Instrumental of any genre and any style as fast as you can in one session. -Make sure you set a timer on your phone or an egg timer (if you feel creative), it doesn't matter. -Stop the timer right before you render the song that you will post, not when you uploaded it. -Post your beat and the time it took you to create it. -You don't have to post a full 4 minute structure beat with 16 bar verses. You can post a fragment of a song too, just anything for showcase. Personal Note This challenge isn't just for people who are super invested in making music.Even if you're a beginner you can and should participate in this thread. I actually encourage you to take part, because this could be a great experience, if you want to get serious with music making. There's no judging here, even if you feel like your beat/instrumental is s---, you should still post it so that more experience members can maybe give you some advice on how to improve and what you're doing wrong, and maybe they can help me improve too. I myself am an amateur, I know how to make songs, I know how to structure them and everything there is to know theoretically. I don't make beats that other people make, I try to experiment a lot and just think outside of the box. So I'm not into making trap beats or EDM stuff, I just do stuff spontaneously which is what this thread is all about. I'm feeling uninspired a lot lately, due to depression and such and haven't been able to make anything so I'll probably post weak a--- beats in this thread lol. - Here are my entries: (Will update OP every time I post a new track) Time: 48 minutes 17 seconds. BPM: 120.00 Key: C Major Length: 2 Minutes, 40 seconds FLAC STREAM: Note: This is just one session, I'm definitely gonna keep working on this right here.
Dec 13, 2015 really cool idea! @BLAZEAUDIO im about to do this. @Narsh you should pull a young thug and do a full song in 15 minutes all freestyle just to see how it would turn out. would be really cool to see
Dec 13, 2015 "45 Minutes" Not that happy with how this turned out. I haven't really been at my best recently, but here it is, made this in 45 minutes.
Dec 13, 2015 Drums and synth are nice, but the bass is way too loud, you can even see the waveforms on soundcloud, s--- is spiking. Other than that, this is pretty good.
Dec 13, 2015 Due to how I produce, this is very short. I normally take anywhere from 45 min. to an hour to produce a single pattern with everything mixed and eq'd and with all the plugins I want on all the channels. I'd normally take everything into the sequencer after this and split my pattern and then build the song, but I just didn't have time with the goal I set so this is literally just the pattern
Dec 14, 2015 more finished version of this I guess? Not sure I'll actually finish this completely and use it.
Dec 14, 2015 It's cool to see the progress you've made while making those tbh. How long did the second session take u?
Dec 17, 2015 Been there fam, I'm just now getting back on the horse with this and figuring out my next project
Jan 5, 2016 Haven't posted in a while cuz I didn't really feel like making any beats from scratch, but here's something new I just recently made. Title: Absolutes Time: 17 minutes 48 seconds BPM: 120.20 Key: C Minor Length: 2 Minutes, 12 seconds I based this around a soundtrack of a movie whose franchise is pretty hyped up rn. who can guess which movie this song is from?
Jan 5, 2016 STAR WARS! Battle of the Heroes! Idk if you've seen my thread but you should look at it! I've been working with music from those soundtracks like non-stop for the last week hahahahaha.
