Jun 12, 2015 u were tagged because this thread isnt just meant for people who already like thug. if anything this thread less important to them but anyways, yaww ill take u off lol.
Jun 12, 2015 Nice read, thanks. It's interesting to read about his recording style and his love of Funyuns and junk food lol I think overall I just love his energy, reminds me of the energy of S4TW2 which I've listened to a ton since it came out. I've only heard the 3 Thug songs in this thread so far I do plan on downloading more soon but I figure this thread is a good place to start.
Jun 12, 2015 funyuns "thug doesnt eat real food" also check this thread: https://forum.sectioneighty.com/young-thug-starter-kit.t34168/page-10 and ive written a bit about thug too: sectioneighty.com/review-young-thug-barter-6/ sectioneighty.com/insane-metro-thuggin/ lastly, the new pitchfork interview with thug's stylist is great tbh: pitchfork.com/thepitch/790-an-interview-with-jojo-zarur-young-thugs-stylist/
Jun 12, 2015 oh and forget to add the mandatory SFTW2 (although i love it) is a 2013/2014/2015 young thug karaoke tape @Loyalty
Jun 13, 2015 4. Beast "I call my mamma Makaveli she gon' ride with me" One of new favorites from the leaks...songs like this, Myself, Red Star etc where its just thug going off for an extended amount of time about his relationships, kids, family, etc are what most casual "fans" seem to miss (or just ignore). This track not only constantly switches up, especially when you least expect it ("then i bounce back on her! imma catch that b---- and make her bite like a piranha!"), it features some of Thug's best singing this side of Givenchy ("offiiiiiiiiicer, saveee meee, im soo gone off this puuurrp). It's layered, introspective, but still carefree in a way that the kid in Thug can never seem to let go (even when inciting the personas of Tupac and Biggies). And the way he twists words man ("I went from rapping to raaaaaygeee (reggae)") "I swear the baddest b------s got the biggest foreheads Even when she mad she never take me to court, ay Im uptown ay Im uptown, Im passin New Orleans" The part towards the end following that hook ^ is one of my favorite moments in recent memroy....CHOPPER CIIIIIIIIITAAAAAAY >>>>>> There is ONE really sus line in this song, but Ill let you guys find it yourself haha. Song is perfect. And only one of my many in this vein. "IM A MOFUCKIN GANGSTA, IM THE MOFUCKIN TRUTH, 100,000 MY PEOPLE, 100,000 PIRUS" "First I got the money then the power, no ranger." smfh. What I love most is the low-key story telling man. I dont get how people can just ignore this s---: [Verse 2] Baby girl know that I'm a king Hustle hard, million views without a machine I just might marry that little b---- and call her my thing Marry her two times the way she s--- on my d-ding Put her out the house and make her leave all of the things I bought her, I caught her cheating with a n----- such a stalker But I don't give no d--- cause she mine yes I bought her I pull up in the Lamb at the school pick up her daughter Every time she get mad she acting like she don't remember She don't remember nothing good but she remember Tinders She remember they hopped on they wood and caught a splinter She remember that time when they cooked me that TV dinner She remember that time every time I snuck in the house all late And I remember that time when she was serious she'd never play d--- how you know bro Got a new ho sat butt a--- naked right in front of n----- stove n----- money stacked up like Ludacris afro Got a hundred hoes I lie to like I'm Pinocchio When they say they bout to leave I'm like baby don't leave I'ma run it up even if it come down to selling weed I'ma stack them big bucks, yes I want that Chuck E. Cheese I want them Ms no Mickey D's @Cain @Squid @Big Mitch @Peter Parker @ImmortalTechnique @Chigzzer @FlawlessT @Loyalty @Acid Sav @zazou @Meero @Fire Squad @Ordinary Joel @Enigma @CharlieWork @Joshua Smoses @Swizz @Young Sinatra @Luke @6ixgawd @Cyreides @Skippy @WPG
Jun 13, 2015 Okay, wow. That song definitely up there with givenchy. Lyrics on point, production is fire. However his voice still bugs me for some reason. But that was fire.
Jun 13, 2015 Also one of my favorites from the recent leaks. Becoming one of my favorite Thug songs in general.
Jun 13, 2015 just starting to realize that i shouldve picked a less introspective/more hype song for a saturday lol whoops, next week
Jun 13, 2015 f--- this one goes He's so good at just suddenly switching up his flow & delivery, he just knows how to properly use his voice as an instrument. Thanks for continuing to post these leaked tracks m8.
Jun 14, 2015 No problem man. It's kinda hard for me not to go to his straight up classics...but that only means that we'll be like 20..30...50 days into this and I'll still be posting songs from my personal top 10 here and there... I'm hyperactive with like every thing I do tho so I obviously wanna throw all the incredible tracks at u guys at once and talk about em all lol Idea is tho that one by one would actually let people break down what makes thug good and why they should or shouldn't get into him personally I hope the discussions for each track pick up as we keep going The Makaveli reference in this >>> (And the simple but effect contrast of tupac referring to his actual mom when he talks about whose riding with him, and thug talking about his girl who he calls mamma etc) and then the notorious biggie bit in the last verse >>>
