Expected worse, some of these should have been on an album.

Outside of that terrible third track, this has been magnificent so far. This is Nas to the f---ing fullest. The most “Nas” feeling record since 02. Gonna see how the 2nd half of this holds up.

Tracklist looks promising for the production but Nas might be the only artist who works with all the best producers but yet somehow always have the worst beats lol. It made his music very boring to me since mid 2000's... Actually after the masterpiece that Illmatic is, I have never really enjoyed a Nas album's production except few songs. At this point, I wanna check the album a lot but feels as if it's gonna be waste of time for me because there won't be any songs that will have replay value for me...

Its weird because the production wasn’t necessarily the problem on Nasir. Then again I liked Nasir. It just didn’t invigorate him enough. His delivery on LT2 is far superior. Way more explorative. More risks. I know it’s a compilation, but he is straight up in his element

    Decent, better than Nasir.

    Some very boring songs though

only one listen in but I'm really enjoying this. Clearly a bunch of leftovers from the 00s and not touching the first Lost Tapes but so good to hear some new Nasir

No doubt. Beautiful thing about music is it’s all subjective.

So is this unreleased music from the early 2000’s? Sometimes I can’t tell by Nas’ voice like I can with other artists.

This was fantastic and much needed for hip hop imo.

I really enjoyed Hip Hop is Dead era Nas. He wasn’t afraid to be experimental and you can hear the jazz influence.

I’m also low key glad the Kelis situation was addressed here.

This is a really good tape after a few listens. Unsure how it ranks at the moment but there's some real gems here. Nas flippantly confirmed that he had the material for a Vol.3 and 4 tucked away and said he won't make us wait 17 years for the next one. I would not be sad at all if Nas stays on this path away from an 'active' artist and toward being a curator of his own work. He seems more comfortable in this format.

It's a mixture, earliest known from Hip Hop Is Dead sessions (06-ish) and as recent as the past 18 months. Nas seems to enjoy the mystery but you could make solid guesses on many based on the producers.

My overall view is a little lower than the initial excitement but I still love the album. Not better than Untitled and Life Is Good because those were very cohesive projects that I think highly of as some of his best work ever, but it is a great compilation album. Production is out of this world for Nas, old school yet more depth than most people realize.

I maintain he is completely in his element and more comfortable on an album than he’s been since Gods Son or HHID

I’m a bit concerned that the stuff he has tucked away isn’t actually tucked away, the guy’s got like 5 or 6 mixtapes worth of leaks/vaults/demos/features that are already out there.

Hopefully he doesn’t try to release “Film” “Deja Vu” or “Wanna Play Rough” and pass it as a new release feel me, I would feel personally insulted as a Nas stan if he did that even if 90% of his fans ain’t heard those

I'm in 2 minds. An official release means better quality obviously, so I'd be pretty happy with that. I think it will be mostly unheard stuff from here on out though. It looks like his Columbia records are off limits since he changed labels, and there aren't that many leaks from Hip Hop is Dead onward.

Definitely better than Nasir, but not touching the first Lost Tapes...I like Tanasia, Lost Freestyle, War Against Love, Queensbridge Politics, and a few others.

When he says - “no disrespect...but if it’s hard to swallow” he is using a double meaning since prodigy died by choking to death

I thought it was cool that he did a Prodigy tribute and mentioned the mural. I went multiple times to see that mural and met the artists who worked on it. It's a shame that it was defaced twice. But like the song says, it's QB Politics.
