Gaming NBA 2K18 - OUT NOW

    2K has begun releasing details about this year’s entry of its latest basketball sim. NBA 2K18 is set to feature improved visuals, mechanics, modes and more with Shaquille O’Neal as this year’s cover star. Always a highlight of gaming’s sporting calendar, we can’t wait to don a pair of sneakers and get back on the court.

    Veterans of NBA 2K17 should feel right at home with this year’s instalment. With the exception of new stats, modes and increasingly realistic visuals, 2K18 is the same old addictive song and dance. Little else is known about 2K18’s new additions beyond the presence of Shaquille O’Neal as the Legend Edition cover star.

    Some of the returning modes include MyGM, MyCareer and MyLeague alongside the usual range of exhibition options for local and online multiplayer. MyTeam also makes a welcome return, a mode based around compiling a virtual trading card collection of your favourite players and teams. With any luck, 2K18 will add further refinements to the existing formula.

    2K has announced that Kyrie Irving will be the cover star of NBA 2K18. Starring alongside Shaquille O’Neal on the limited editions, the Cleveland Cavaliers point guard will feature on the cover of the standard edition of the game.

    NBA 2K18 Legend Edition – What’s in it?
    Just like last year, NBA 2K will launch with a Legend Edition that provides players with early access to the game alongside new and exclusive in-game content. This year’s edition is adorned by basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, as you can tell from the above trailer.

    The ordinary Legend Edition will run you $100, with the gold variant costing $150. UK pricing is yet to be announced. Here’s a full list of the contents found inside.
    Legend Edition –
    Physical Items:
    • Limited-edition Shaq poster;
    • 5 Panini trading cards;
    • Exclusive stickers.
    Digital Content:
    • 100,000 Virtual Currency;
    • 20 Weekly MyTEAM Packs;
    • Shaq in-game items.
    Legend Edition Gold –

    • Limited-edition Shaq Poster;
    • Lenticular;
    • 10 Panini trading cards;
    • Exclusive stickers.
    Digital Content:
    • 250,000 Virtual Currency;
    • 40 Weekly MyTEAM Packs;
    • Shaq in-game items.
    NBA 2K18 Franchise Mode details
    For the first time in the series, NBA 2K18’s Franchise Mode will be story-driven. Confirmed by Visual Concepts in a Facebook post, the team revealed some brand-new details about what’s to come. NBA 2K is known for offering a narrative-driven single player, but now that is being expanded into Franchise, where players take control of an entire team and manage trades, finances and even the costs of products at concession stands.

    MyGM will now get a more narrative experience compared to MyLeague, with the former now known as MyGM: The Next Chapter, and MyLeague will be more akin to the Franchise mode of old.

    The new All Time Teams should be f---ing sick but I wonder if they'll have duplicates like legend Lebron for Miami and the Cavs. I like playing with the legends roster but a lot of the players are made up by whoever made that roster online. I'm also pumped they finally added new classic teams, it's about f---ing time. They really need to add the 09-10 Lakers roster, hate that the only throwback Kobe was the 2001 team.

    Idk what game modes you like to play but I'd wait to see the new classic teams and all time rosters. I know there's ppl who create them online but if 2K does them right they could be incredible.
    Well they have the 07 Cavs and 13 Heat, so they should have Bron on both teams, same for guys like Bosh/T-Mac/Shaq.

    16 new teams is wild, I have a hard time coming up with 10 that I want.

    16 new classic teams coming this year as well as all time teams. So far we're getting:

    96-97 Heat
    98-99 Knicks
    05-06 Grizzlies
    12-13 Grizzlies
    01-02 Kings (C-Webb confirmed on the team)
    03-04 Lakers
    07-08 Nuggets
    11-12 Thunder

    05-06 Grizzlies is pretty questionable, but I f--- w the rest. Really excited to use the Lakers & Nuggets. Hopefully we get a 2011 Bulls squad.

    Philly's all time roster is interesting....


    Dont think either Sixers or Suns have Barkley due to a few thinks Charles has said about 2k. No Moses Malone, Bobby Jones and Dolph Schayes as well.

    Don't agree with giving Ivo a 97 even though he's one of my 5 fav players of all time. If they're giving guys cards that match their best years with the team, Kobe should be 99 instead of 98.
