although i do think the celtics will be a forced to be reckoned with for awhile, i think their fans laughably overrate gordon hayward as if he's some franchise altering star. not speaking about anyone specific on here, just fans in general.

He’s a top 30 player in the league. He’s franchise altering in a sense, but the most important reason is changing our lineups and better positioning for or guys (Tatum is developing to become a 4 but is stuck at the 3 since Hayward injury)

In what way? He was an all star in the West last year. I don't think anybody has called him an all NBA, superstar type guy but with a healthy Hayward and Kyrie Boston probably wins the East.

Really? Tatum looks pretty clearly like a modern day 3, and maaaaybe a stretch 4. He's got great handles and shot creation and can guard multiple positions. He is 6'8 too. Are they actually trying to develop him to become a 4? (They could be, I really haven't seen it tho)

Even without him they could arguably be the best team in the East, so that's not really saying much. I just don't think you can expect your team to be a legit contender if Gordon Hayward (or even Kyrie) is the best player on your team. Who knows, maybe he improves even more under Stevens, but he hasn't done anything to make me think 'holy s---, Gordon Hayward is a great player.'

None of this is even mentioning the fact that he'll be coming back from a fractured tibia after not playing for a full year. He's good don't get me wrong, but it's not like they traded for like a PG or Jimmy Butler.

I agree he's no PG or Butler, but he's not as ball dominant as those 2 and is probably a better fit next to Kyrie for that reason alone. Obviously not an elite defender like those 2 but he's no slouch.

Tatums gained 13 lbs of pure muscle this season, looking to gain more. They want him to start at 4 alongside Hayward at the 3.

Hayward is not better than PG in like any aspect of the game, but ahhh. That makes sense about Tatum at the 4. 3s and 4s are basically interchangeable in today's game anyway

PG is incredibly overrated on offense. He’s defensively ahead of Gordon for sure but his offensive game is lacking.

Hayward’s system wasn’t built around him putting up large numbers. I meant better in terms of Hayward’s numbers. It still won’t be as big as it could be but I’d imagine 20-22ppg

either is PG's in OKC and he's still shooting 40% from 3 and putting up 20+ a night

Hayward wasn't putting up 20+ till Snyder got there anyway so it's hard to argue that his system is the reason Hayward doesn't put up bigger numbers
