He was pretty great his rookie year, looked incredibly promising, I don't blame them for being upset. If that long injury history that was posted in here earlier turns out to be true though, I guess that somewhat makes sense of this trade. Because the back up who took over for Alonso played really well last year so I'm guessing they just went with the less injury prone guy.

Why are people acting like AP is impossible to get? Lol. I'd say right now any team willing to take on his salary could get him without giving up a ton, although the cap hit would s---. But it's also very possible the Vikings end up cutting him if they can't trade him and then teams could offer him a more reasonable deal and get him for a better price.

Apparently Peterson is meeting with Zimmer and Spielman tomorrow (the coach and GM) so we should know more soon. Really hoping he doesn't stay with the Vikings for 13 mill this year and then even more $$ the next 2 years, I don't want him.

Early rumor is the Eagles will sign CJ Spiller as McCoy's replacement. So basically Spiller and Alonso for McCoy. I think that's fair. I'd be interested to see how Spiller would do in Chip's offenses IF he can stay healthy. They have Polk as their goaline back and Sproles as their 3rd down/change of pace guy. I think Spiller would be a very adequate 1st/2nd down guy.

Also heard their Top 2 free agent targets are Byron Maxwell and Devin McCourty. If they can sign those two then draft a corner in the 1st round the secondary would be set.

Gotta re-sign Maclin though. Wish they would've tagged him.

Not initially because of emotional attachment to Shady, but it makes so much sense. If Kiko is healthy he can be our best LB for years. McCoy looks to be trending downwards. There's a slew of RBs in the draft this year as well as capable WRs. The only thing that could ruin us is if we go after Mariota.

I do not want Spiller as a 1st/2nd down running back. If he can stay healthy, maybe. But I don't see him doing so.

I'm hearing alot of analysts saying Kiko can be just as good as Luke Kuechly, maybe better. I hope so. And you're right Shady does seem to be trending down and usually once that happens with running backs they never return to form. He'll be 27 this year. Most backs are done by age 30. I think 2013 was his peak.

I think Philly won the trade, but I wouldn't say the Bills lost. Shady will help their offense a ton, and Kiko is a stud as long as he stays healthy.

I like that move by the Bills. Obviously Cassel can't be their long term answer, but he's a very solid QB and he'll have guys like McCoy and Watkins around him to make his job easier

Cassel's better than anyone they've had at QB for a while, not a bad move if the contract isn't too bad(didn't see the details yet.)

They'd be smart to draft a QB too though, 2nd or 3rd round maybe.

*edit* s--- thought Cassel was a FA, saw the Vikings traded him. I wonder who their backup is gonna be now, better not be Ponder. It says they got draft picks but doesn't say which ones.

    . @buffalobills swap their 1st 2015 5th-round pick for @Vikings 2015 6th-rounder and give Min a 2016 7th-rounder for Matt Cassel @NFLonFOX

Vikings didn't get s--- basically lol, guessing it's a move to free up some cap space which worries me that they might be trying to keep AP. :emoji_slight_frown:

Well, at least Cassel is an upgrade over Manuel. Not by much though. Gotta trust that Whaley and Rex Ryan know what they're doing though.

Wasn't the Bills D better than average anyways? They'll probably be alright without Kiko, the offense has some weapons now with McCoy and Watkins and at least a decent QB who can hold his own and get his WRs the ball. I think Watkins will be utilized a lot better this year with a better coach and QB. He already looked very good last year despite their issues at QB.

Who are we going to have as our backup QB? Ponder is a free agent and we can't have him as Teddys backup.

So we'll have to draft or look to free agency for a backup

Buffalo, and Minnesota both should be looking at Hoyer for a backup. I don't see him going anywhere worth while as a starter, but as a backup I think he'd be great for anyone in need.

Eagles can reportedly trade 2018 draft picks once 2015 draft opens. Also being reported that if Mariota is still available at 6th pick, Eagles are going up for him.
