Cautiously optimistic, huh? I like it.

Just checked out your guys' schedule and looks like you start with a couple winnable games against the jags and bengals. So if Watson can at least not give the game away, you could start 2-0 and maybe give Watson some confidence.

But then week 3 is the Patriots, so yeah good luck with that one lol..

Watson is going to be a stud. The Texans already have a championship level defense and great skills players on offense. All you guys really need is for Watson to be better than Assweiler.

The Texans of this last year remind me of those playoff Bengals team. Both were ridiculously stacked at the non-QB positions (the bengals had better offensive skill players while the Texans have a better D) but we held back by average to subpar QB performances.

I don't see Watson doing any good tbh. Doesn't seem much of an nfl qb to me. Idk what texans were thinking signing Owsweiler to a big contract a few years ago. He was never any good and he thinks he's so d--- good and cocky in interviews. He's the absolute worst qb I've ever seen in the playoffs.

Of course. He's a solid coach in most situations, with the glaring weakness that he is brain rackingly conservative. Issue lies when it comes to short week games like prime time and playoffs were we need to be at our best, and he just doesn't cut it in those situations.

He's a phenomenal team builder which is the only reason he has a job right now and honestly he wouldn't in any circumstance have a job except our GM is good friends with him, doesn't want to spend money on the gap that Marv covers as more than just a coach

Except Andy Dalton was only the blame for like one playoff loss (when he was a rookie) and got ate alive by Texans D and JJ Watt. After that it's a combination of injuries (one year our primary reciever was Rex Burkhead) and the team around Dalton simply not showing up to the game (in typical Marvin Lewis fashion).

Daton's been fine after his first or second playoff game. The idea that he's a choker in the playoffs is played out more often than not it isn't him

Yeah Watson was probably the best qb choice in the draft and every sport analysts I've seen says he's mature for his age so I think he'll be mentally ready. I just don't know if he'll be physically fit enough for the NFL. He won't be running against nfl defenders like he could in college that's for sure. Those types of qbs only last a season or 2 in the nfl anymore. He seems to have a good arm at least.
