Yeah TimmyT is definitely overrating luck. I liked smittys ranking of him. Guy played maybe a season and a half worth of games and Timmy wants to call him one of the best lol I remember watching games with him playing below average too He wasn't consistently good enough to even think about calling him one of the best in the league.

for the vast majority of his time in minnesota, walsh was a good (probably very good) kicker. when he missed that chip shot field goal in that playoff game versus seattle, he became a household name because it was a playoff game and everyone was watching. after that, it was all downhill because he started missing kicks REGULARLY (which is why he got cut, it wasn't because of the seattle miss)---which he didn't do prior to that missed kick vs. seattle. i really believe that missed kick got in his head--because he just wasn't the same after that kick. being a field goal kicker is primarily a mental/confidence thing

Anyone who puts Wentz and Dak in the same category going forward are just asking not to be taken seriously

They’re not as far apart as you think lol. Idc if someone says Wentz is better than Dak but it’s not like it’s totally settled. Wentz is playing better than Dak this season; Dak played better than Wentz last season. They’re still both young & getting better.

Enigma obviously listened to what Skip Bayless had to say about Wentz vs Dak yesterday. He brought up Dak being a lot better than Wentz last year. I guess it's somewhat a decent argument.

Wentz almost looks too good for this to be a fluke year. Dak still didn't look as good last year as what Wentz looks this year. After seeing how bad Dak played against the eagles I would recommend Jones calling Romo back.

Not really? Wentz struggled quite a bit in the second half of last season while Dak continued to play well through the year — including in the playoff game vs Greenbay. Dak this season has had his ups & downs while Wentz has looked fantastic.

Lol @ thinking I listen to that senile old man.

You're not trolling me enigma. Ive studied your controversial style of posting over the years.

Ik you don't follow Skip everyday on other sport topics, I just get the vibe you do listen to his intake on the cowboys to try and better your arguments against other people.

    f---in Skip lol...

Of course Dak was better last year but really who gives a s---? Skip always living in the past man. Wentz has been an MVP caliber QB a this year and Dak has regressed a bit. Not hard to see that Wentz is better. If you asked me this last year I would have said Dak. It’s not difficult lol.

Wentz's ceiling is way higher and I don't think there is really a counter argument to be made. That's fine Dak had a more consistent year last year, but Wentz's highs were much more impressive. Carson's trajectory at this point is incredible and being on pace to be an elite, MVP level QB for many more years to come trumps Dak's ability to be a good, pro-bowl level QB. Plus, Dak is getting exposed with Zeke.

People said exactly this when Luck/Wilson first came into the league. Luck showed a higher ceiling & everyone said “just wait until Wilson doesn’t have a running game to lean on!” Now look, Wilson is a top 5 QB & in my opinion, the leading candidate for MVP. Now the debate isn’t as clear anymore. Both QBs are going to go through ups and downs at first. Dak was struggling even when Zeke was playing. He’s just had a up & down year in general. Losing Tyron & having a struggling tackle in La’el Collins isn’t helping either.

If Luck never ran into injury problems that debate would still be up in the air. I don't really see how a guy who is leading his team to....absolutely no where can be the front runner for MVP. Every debate I've listened to today (national media) have Wilson second or third to Wentz/Brady in that race. It's not like Wentz is playing with his full O-Line either. Peters, our best lineman, is done for the year, but Wentz has shown the ability to extend plays an extra second or two, which opens up a ton of big plays. Dak was out there just tossing balls up for picks at the end of the game like a quitter. Dude's too worried about his image nowadays, taking all those commercial gigs.

Edit: Also, Wilson did prove those skeptics wrong, but Dak is kind of doing the opposite.

That eagles game was the worst game of dak’s career. I’m not excusing him for that but it happens. QB’s play bad games, it’s not the end of the world. You’re right, Peters is out but Vaitai hasn’t been anywhere near as bad as the cowboys back ups in Green/Bell. Green single handedly gave up like 4 sacks vs the Falcons. He had a game grade of <20 on PFF. Bell was a bit better vs the eagles but still continuously got beat & gave up a couple sacks too. Dak didn’t play well but he wasn’t getting much assistance either.

Wilson is playing behind one of the worst pass blocking o-lines in the league with close to no running game & still playing at a high level. Seahawks would have less than 4 wins right now if they didn’t have Wilson. That’s why I think he’s MVP. I don’t know how Brady can be considered when Pats have continuously shown they can win games without him. I mean he’s played great, some of the best football in his career but still... it’s called most valuable player for a reason.

Most valuable player is the QBs who are putting up the best numbers 9 times out of 10

You think pats are 8-2 without Brady? They almost definitely would've started the season 1-5 without him.

Carson Wentz thus far has been a human highlight reel and his team has the best record in the NFL.

I agree Wilson is in the discussion because he's a big chunk of his teams production and is a great player, but he and everyone else are firmly behind Wentz & Brady right now.

If we're taking the MVP award literal then why not give it to Aaron Rodgers? His team and coaching staff are literally hapless without him and we've seen proof.
