Well its hard to start firing your top players that you are paying close to 10 million a year, usually the coach gets the boot. I saw the highlights of yesterdays game, the Wild didn;t lose by much, they lost in OT right? So its not like the team is getting outscored/outplayed by much.

Yeah it's not just really that one game, it's been an overall very disappointing year. The Wild in recent years have kinda been a team that's had hot and cold stretches but last year they had a nice playoff run and the younger players are getting more experience so most people assumed this would be the year they put it together and be more consistent, but it's been even worse than usual. In that Sharks game for example, they got out to an early 2-0 lead and things were looking great, then they just seemed to stop playing hard and eventually lost the game in OT. They got off to a great start this season even and were one of the hottest teams in the league, but after those first 10 games or so it's been all downhill.

Parise didn't play, and Granlund (their 2nd best center) is out for a bit too so there's some pieces missing, but still this team is more talented than the 11th place or whatever that they are in the standings and they were still playing this same way when they were all healthy.

Big game tomorrow vs the blackhawks and I believe it's on NHL Network or NBCSN if anyone's interested in watching. I think the Wild will either come out fired up and it'll be a great game(they usually play Chicago pretty well surprisingly), or if the team is as soft as they've looked at times, they might just get destroyed. Also as usual with any Wild game, I'm worried about who's gonna be in net for Minnesota, I heard Kuemper might be sick again so he might not even play either. I'd say it's the biggest game of the year for the Wild tomorrow, very curious to see how it goes.

If i was Minnesota's gm I'd be picking up the phone and looking for a goaltender. Thats one of the biggest problems they have. Its possible that the wild inquire about Anderson from Ottawa, I'm not sure what a trade between the 2 teams would look like.

    Caps/Wings

EDIT: Rags needs to stop winning... like 13-1 in their last 14 or something and the rest of the East ain't slouching either. Not sure how sustainable the Caps play is right now, so I can't say I'm too optimistic about these next few months. Will also be interesting to see how we do once Holtby inevitably starts to falter a bit,

EDIT 2: But f--- it, this team is playing great right now and we've barely lost since the start of December. Wherever we end up come April, I'm glad this team is at least halfway decent again now.

Bruins look like they have finally found someone who can put the puck in the net. David Pastranak has two multi goal games in a row, hes the youngest player in the league as well.

Are they gonna keep him up though? I think he only has 1 or 2 games left before they have to decide.

Hey @Kon, Minny treaded for a goalie! Have fun with Dubnyk! Hard to imagine they really couldn't pry a different goalie away from a team.

I'm okay with the move, the Wild are very likely going to miss the playoffs anyways the way things are going. This was a low risk move worth a shot, it'd have been stupid to give up their future for a goalie they might only keep for this year. Backstrom's let in an average of 4 goals a game his last 9 starts so can't be worse than him. Never heard of this guy but his numbers looked decent. Best case scenario, he does well and gives the Wild a spark to fight for the playoffs, worst case scenario he's as bad as the other 3 goalies they've used this year but even then they only gave up a 3rd rounder.

Regardless of how the rest of this year goes, it should be VERY obvious to management by now that they need to find a top goalie this offseason.

d--- @Griff , the Sabres look awful, Wild are totally dominating.

Great game for the Wild but need to see it on a regular basis before I get excited again, they're gonna have to win 3 out of every 4 games or so to make the playoffs. Can't tell how the new goalie's doing cuz the Sabres are barely getting any chances lol.

Lol yeah this is just embarrassing. As bad as the Sabres have been this year, this has to be one of the worst efforts of the season. I guess Mike Yeo will live to coach another day.

Ranger fan here, so far im satisfied with how they are playing and im really glad about how well Nash is playing this year. The only thing that worries me is how good a lot of other teams in the East are playing

Doesn't matter but with the Oilers track record I wouldn't want to be stuck there...I'd want Carolina of the 3 if I was a player lol. At least it's nice down there, too!

Brodeur is retiring and joining the Blues front office. The 7 games he played in St. Louis may go down as the most pointless tenure in sports history.
