i think they're both fairly overrated but at least low end theory gets praised for what the album actually is, but a lot of the critical acclaim for nevermind was pretentious. the lyrics on nevermind have been praised worldwide for being a perfect depiction of teenage angst, depression and boredom but if you read them you'll quickly see how basic and generic they are. the subject matter stands out sure, but none of the lyrics themself do. if the subject matter is part of the reason you love nevermind, you should try listening to some rites of spring or cap'n jazz. orchid if you want it louder and heavier, honestly just pick any emo band. even green day did it better on dookie
the production on the album isn't very good either. i guess it's supposed to sound like a raw garage band but it comes off just as bland as any other grunge album. the production it has coupled with the generic riffs makes it feel like a thrash metal album made poppier and slower. the musicianship is just boring throughout the whole thing and there's nothing new or interesting about it that hadn't been done better in punk by 1977

LET for sure but I appreciate Nevermind for what it was and it's eventual status. Unfortunately it did spawn some annoying trends later and I think even Kurt hated the album.
I'd say they topped both works with their subsequent follow-up (Midnight Marauders & In Utero respectively)Ordinary Joel, Ricky and Cunner like this. -

Funnily enough at this point they both influenced rap in different ways which is not something I would have been able to say a few years ago.
I've never been big on grunge and Tribe is one of my favorites of all time so it's an easy choice for me.Ordinary Joel, Sqrt Sqrt and 1999 like this. -

Nevermind definitely had way way more impact/influence but spawned some of the woat music ever plus it’s way worse than in utero & other bands that influenced them
