Feb 11, 2021 I would understand Biggie, since he was just getting started, but Pac dropped plenty of good music and different types of tracks that stay nice to this day.
Feb 11, 2021 Doesn't mean he belongs in anybodies top 3 lol. Biggie was a better rapper than Pac in almost everyway. if he never died, Big would probably be the undisputed GOAT
Feb 11, 2021 Never understood the Juice Wrld appeal. I like him don’t get me wrong, but I just find him pedestrian; especially in today’s rap climate. Dude can rap tho. Would have been cool to see where his career headed in the future also, 50 gets his deserved credit! An absolute goat of life
Feb 11, 2021 i hear u but i do think prime 50 is different. like cam, he carved a lane , nyc savagery, no holds barred alpha meanness or w/e. like wayne, he pioneered the mixtape come up. not the same as making a thread dedicated to yelawolf or w/e (shout out neomerge lol)
Feb 11, 2021 Future. I have tried and tried and tried to get through some of his albums but I just can't for the life of me understand how the guy gets so much love. I can barely understand a word he says. To me it's just not "hip-hop". And no, I'm not going to call it "mumble-rap" either. I dunno what it is but literally nothing clicks for me whatsoever.
Feb 11, 2021 Son I listened to the massacre like a couple days ago. IT SLAPSSSSSSS. timberlake canceled so Curtis takes another blow
Feb 11, 2021 Curtis >>>> The Massacre maybe if you cut the filler Massacre takes it but as it stands I'd much rather listen to Curtis front to back
Feb 11, 2021 Literally any white rapper who's fanbase consists of people saying "I don't like rap, but I'll listen to [NF, Merkules, etc.]"
Feb 11, 2021 -Jay-Z: I'll always vouch for Hov being a skilled rapper with good projects but the dude doesn't really blow me away like that. He doesn't have the technical prowess of Nas, Em, G Rap, Lupe, or Black Thought or the charisma/personality of Pac, DMX, Biggie, or even Camron. And his success post 2000's has been smoke and mirrors, riding the coattails of Kanye and Beyonce, and having Samsung inflate his sales. Still a legend though. -Lauryn Hill: Super talented but basically a one album(2 if you include the Fugees) wonder whose album was barely rap and the loosies that she released over time were basura compared to her prime. Imho, Missy Elliot deserves the reputation she has. -J Cole: Just plain average all around. He's not outstanding in lyricism, melodies, features, hitmaking, flowing, concepts, discography, influence, etc. People literally give him props just for not being a mumble rapper and having surface level takes on conscious rap. Cole is the type of rapper you're sort of grateful for because you know he's gonna act least try to be lyrical and bring substance but you don't really expect to be blown away or impressed with what he actually does. -Joyner Lucas: After "Lucky You", Eminem stans have started riding his d-ck harder than a carousel, even though he's just your basic "rappity rap" artist with some flashes of brilliance once in a blue moon. I enjoy some of his early material from his mixtapes. -Lil Baby: For the Tik Tok generation, he's dope I guess. He's far from bad but things are so watered down now, that he probably would've been considered less than okay a decade ago. I'm not a "stuck in the 90's" type but Lil Baby doesn't really impress me with his bars and flows. I just need to hear him over non-trap beats and maybe I'll appreciate his rapping more because the "staccato flow" a lot of Southern rappers today tend to use to sound more lyrical is beyond played out.
