Not much to explain, they held off on firing me due to Christmas so they did it on New Years. I had 3 write ups and got a 4th for accidently handing a $200 check I cashed back to the customer instead of putting it in the drawer.

Never lied about or exaggerated my money on any forum. Like I said banquet bartending is a great job and no one really realizes it.

With this company my hourly wage is $13 an hour. On New year's eve I was running the bar in the VIP lounge of a big Gatsby Party.

Most drinks are $7.50, so if someone gets one drink they usually put a $1.50 in my basket and keep the $11 after they give me a $20 bill.

If they're buying all their friends drinks and rack up $65 on credit card they'll tip me $15 to $20 on that.

Then there was these 100 free drink tickets that were handed out. Everyone of those I took I got a $1.50... Plus, they almost always tip on top of that. So, I probably averaged $2.25 for those 100 drinks plus my hourly wage and at least $1 a drink on the drinks without the hosted tickets. I showed up 6pm and left work at 2am serving drinks from 9pm to 1am at about a rate of 1 every minute.

Easy money.

Bartending is far from my career... It's just a hobby... But it's easy to make money banquet bartending and I think it's fun as h---.

Spent New Years volunteering for the city firefighter crisis response unit. We go to crime scenes and help counsel those in need.. whether it be one person or a family ... often times when someone codes *dies* the family members are understandably in shock. We've a CR van stocked with supplies.. from food, blankets, clothes, even pet supplies. Usually stay until the medical examiner releases the body for removal. Seen some bad s---. Pros outweigh the cons.
