Show your appreciation for one of Future's best projects to date:
I get that Future is on a new level ( c: ) with the introspective theme in his newest projects, but his classic astronaut music has its own strengths that should be appreciated more. He just doesn't make tracks of pure fun like Pop Them Bandz, Splashin, I Got Yo b---- or Pajamas anymore. He was also wayy more versatile with his flows before, and didn't stick to triplet variations on every single track.

    To get started:
    • What do you like about it?
    • What is your favorite track from the project?
    • Where would you rank it in his discography?

I would rank it near the bottom of his discography, though. I love it, but it's kinda just a less polished Astronaut Status

I think they're really different, Astronaut Status is pure retro-futurism soundscape while Dirty Sprite sounds like some late 2000's trance club soundscape. It's also more fun and not that serious.

I like it more than Astronaut Status, I might even go as far as to put it in 4th after Monster, Honest & Beast Mode.

Honest is top 3 for you? I'm a huge Honest apologist and I wouldn't do that

I never really understood what people hate about honest. It's close to flawless.

The sequencing is questionable at best (Benz Friends into Blood Sweat Tears as the closer), and songs like My Momma and I Won feel forced and vacuous. Obviously songs like T-Shirt make up for it, but flawless isn't the word I'd use.

I love I Won lol, the melodramatic superficial celebration of it is what makes it great. My Momma is f---ing flames altho the Wiz verse is a bit meh.

Also I'd rather have a dynamic sequencing rather than a predictable one. Think about how stupid Groupies would sound if it was placed right after Throw Away on Monster? It would just be cliche and corny.

honestly the sequencing on honest was fine apart from one or two really awkward transitions, like for a soundscape that broad it's impressive how cohesive it is and it's at least clearly structured from track to track

Tbh My Momma might be really good, I just have a strict no Wiz Khalifa policy on all aspects of my life and haven't listened to it in like a year.

Throw Away into Groupies would be cliche, but Benz Friends into Blood Sweat Tears is just jarring. Maybe cause I think Benz Friends would've been perfect as a closer and I'm not a huge fan of Blood Sweat Tears anyway, I dunno, it just bothers me

I always saw benz friends as like a bridge between special and blood sweat tears, like think how awkward it would special to BST would be in comparison. it's not the smoothest but it makes sense at least.

also caslon I didn't know you liked wiz

but yeah alongside the reasons in the OP I love some of the ways that he was using autotune on this project, like you don't really see him doing this type of stuff on his recent projects

fav song is probably yeah yeah, never been this high or much more

I do miss the general ratchetness of DS1-era Future. Tracks like Groupies aside he isn't gritty in the same way anymore

easily a Top 3 Future project for me, might be #1 idk tbh

but i love it, and ur completely right about him being more versatile with his flows back then. i wish he would experiment a bit more flow wise these days but its cool, still dropping quality s---.

I don't know about that, his lyrics has always been pretty consistent. He was definitely better with rhymes in tracks like Yeah Yeah & Old Hundreds, but his songwriting reached a new level on Honest & Monster.
