May 29, 2019 Jericho was pissed off because he was second on the show the Mania he faced Owens. He thought no matter how good I or the program I'm in are, there's a ceiling. He was a badass in New Japan last year and he's a badass now. So much better. And yeah, Taker re-signed and is facing Goldberg in Saudi Arabia. Taker would never wrestle for All Elite and I can't imagine them wanting him for more than one or two shows.
May 29, 2019 There was a point in time where Undertaker/Goldberg (or Goldberg vs Rock/Austin) could have pushed or passed a million PPV buys. Here we are, in 2019, on a Network show nobody cares about when neither guy can wrestle. They lost more subscribers doing their last show at 10 bucks than they'd get actual PPV buys now. Edit I LOVE what Jericho did with his Moxley podcast (just dropped). He introduced it saying they recorded it before Double or Nothing, and that he was pissed about what he did, but as a piece of journalism it was a great interview. I'm past kayfabe mattering, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't appreciate it.
May 29, 2019 well looks like he may be on all out if the rumors are to be believed. the poster has his trademark stars on it possibly teasing him
May 29, 2019 Still think there’s no shot of Punk returning, but I guess if he’s ever gonna make an appearance, a big AEW show in Chicago is as good of a chance as any.. Hopefully if/when he doesn’t appear, people can finally stop bringing up his name for every show.
May 29, 2019 Lol for real. Give it up. Dude has to get in shape if he wants to wrestle again. And if he comes it has to be for TV. A waste to do it on PPV. All Out is gonna sellout regardless.
May 30, 2019 Don't read too far into that. Those stars are the Chicago flag, All Out is in Chicago, I think people using that as saying Punk is going to be there is a reach
Jun 1, 2019 I actually think there is at least a 50% chance Punk shows up at All Out or the first show on TNT. I had given up on him ever returning to wrestling too, but the more I think about it, the more it honestly makes too much sense given- 1. his great friendship with the Bucks 2. him being the first guy Tony Kahn contacted when thinking about starting the company 3. How much it would piss off Vince and Hunter by him doing it. He would make a ton of money and would be able to pick his schedule/number of dates while still being able to do his MMA commentary gigs. He would have to get into better shape to a degree, but lets say his first feud was with Jericho, how good of shape does he really need to be to wrestle Jericho lol Btw- We still need an AEWbros tag
Jun 1, 2019 He's going to want to prove that if he couldn't do MMA he's still one of the best in wrestling. That's just who he is. Him not not being a great athlete makes me wonder how long it would take him to get up to a high level. Him being a friend of the Bucks reminded me of when they did their panel on the cruise. Jericho told a story about Punk proclaiming he was a locker room leader and said something about him. There's definite heat there, if he goes I'd think it'd be against someone fresh.
Jun 1, 2019 What makes you guys think he's in bad shape? maybe I missed something but I know he was working out and training all the time there for a while, I assume he's at least in pretty good shape. I dunno if he'd be wrestling long matches if he returns anyways, and wouldn't rule out just a 1 time appearance without wrestling either if he does return which I still doubt..
Jun 2, 2019 It’s only because when he did that run in at that indy show a couple months ago he looked a little out of shape but tbh he had a sweatshirt and a mask on so nobody could really tell forsure lol I’m sure he’s still in good shape, maybe not ring shape, but I’m sure that is last thing that would matter if he came back. Dude would get 1999 Austin level pops for a good year straight if he came back whether he still had good conditioning or not haha
Jun 2, 2019 An old, out of shape former WWE star coming to TNT wrestling is not what we need. He'll be great if he does though
Jun 3, 2019 AEW doesn't NEED Punk, but holy s--- would he tremendously give them a whole new level of buzz. I know it's said often, but its true, you use someone like Punk to draw in all the extra eyeballs so you can expose them to guys like Kenny and Page, then hopefully convert those new fans that came to see Punk into regular weekly viewers.
Jun 3, 2019 I get that, but we're hitting the limit with WWE guys now. I see all this fantasy booking for would be WWE matches between former talents and it's starting to get a bit much.
