I thought the album was cool, very atmospheric and entertaining.

Every verse that I heard was enjoyable, the production really complimented all of the MC's, everyone seemed to do their thing.

It's refreshing hearing Dr Dre on a new song again, not even a huge fan of his, but you have to love his delivery and voice. That's an ATG voice right there, even though he doesnt write anymore.

Just had my first listen and after seeing the comments my fellow S80 fam was saying about this album I was expecting a instant classic. With that said in no way would i say this is a "Instant Classic" Some of the tracks were forgettable and others were just leagues ahead of others. I think with time it will get better but it could easily get worse. I think the hype and the wait for a new Dre album was playing into the opinions of certain individuals. Dont get me wrong there art still a handful of classic tracks on this tape and the production is flawless. I hated King Mez's contribution I think Dre should have replaces his contributions with Snoop/Cube/Kendrick. Anderson Paak was ok nothing special except for his part on Animals which was one of my favorites. I think Kendrick should have had his fingers on this tape more than both Anderson and Mez. Game absolutely murdered his verse its a shame he hasn't been able to keep this caliber of rapping his entire career. Now for Em's verse... His verse was real solid but there was no need for him to start screaming like he has done so much in the latter part of his career. I will definitely be giving this more spins with hope that it grown on me. No way should we claim it better than 2001 or The Chronic especially since those tapes have stood the test of time and are staples in the the rap game. This tape has years to go till we can claim it as better or on the same level of those tapes. This tape on first listen is clearly the worst of Dre's discography but it no way a dud. On first listen I would give it a 6.5/7 I think when its all said and done it will be a solid 7.5. Without a doubt the production>>> I will share my opinions again after another spin or two. It would be unjust to say I'm disappointed because of the wait and the hype but seeing the praise this was getting on S80 it was a bit of a let down. Only time will tell though.

I agree with the fact that this album should not be called a classic, at least not for another 5 years we should wait so we can see if it stood the test of time. Having said that I've been listening to this album i got about 6 replays in so far. There are a few songs that are weak compared to the others but the quality of the others is much higher. Chronic 2001 had a lot of filler but what made that album a classic was it's production, those beats are timeless. Let's see how the production of this album ages.
