Mar 28, 2017 this used to be such a thing a couple years ago lol idk why people dont talk about it anymore
Mar 28, 2017 3am in the morning Eminem while in sleep paralysis would be a tripp...There is no escaping
Mar 28, 2017 Man sleep paralysis is some scary s---, I have experienced it a few times back when I had a really awful sleep schedule. Like you're frozen and panicking, thankfully that hasn't happened in years but it's a strong reminder to make sure you rest well. Lucid Dreaming is awesome, never did figure out how it happens but like @SHUDEYE said you are just going in and out of the same dream like on some "would you like to save your progress?" video game s---.
Mar 28, 2017 I know you can suppress sleep paralysis if you sleep face down, psychologically speaking it makes you feel more secure as opposed to lying face forward. Great thread btw, hoping to see some interesting stories and what not
Oct 24, 2017 Yessir, one of the worst things to go through. I quit drinking a while back and it pretty much went away though. I'm sure it affects people differently for different reasons, good luck
Oct 24, 2017 I had a situation a year and a half ago. I had this pretty weird dream that I was going through portals and so on I don't think the dream itself is relevant here, what happened was I woke up, I mean I literally was awake, I think I'm pretty aware of that.I noticed the bed was shaking like it was f---ing shaking like it was some earthquake (no nobody was f---ing my wife or a girl lmao I sleep alone) and come on I was pretty terrified, wouldn't you get terrified if you had woken up while the whole bed was shaking? Then, I turned my head just a little bit and a I saw this black smoke being spread all over the room and it simply vanished. It's not really sleeping paralysis (that's when you get out of your body ) but I thought I'd like to share with you this moment because it was TERRIFYING. I have to say, probably up there with sleeping paralyisis which I studied a little bit.
Oct 24, 2017 man i think we have a thread for this or i remember discussing it here before nah sleep paralysis is a natural occurrence. your body paralyzes itself during the deep sleep cycle so you don't flail while dreaming and accidentally hurt yourself. majority of the time this paralysis wears off slowly and you should wake up feeling at worst a little groggy for a short period. Sometimes though, your body can kinda bug out and you'll wake up while your body is still in dream mode. It's basically dreaming, but you're 100% awake and aware and you can't move. That's why sleep paralysis is so terrifying to people, because they can experience dreams (good or bad) with their awake, conscious mind so they perceive whatever they are seeing as "real"
Oct 24, 2017 yeah you're basically right,if I remember correctly, when you wake up after experiencing sleep paralysis and if you look at the mirror you may see some pretty horrifying things, am I right?
Oct 24, 2017 I've had it happen a handful of times. First time bugged me out. It was my last night my freshman year of college and my roommate already moved out of our dorm. I watched Mothman Prophecies which is supposed to be based on true story in WV and I was going to WVU. So I go to sleep and the next morning I wake up and open my eyes but I can't move and had this weird feeling. It looked like there was someone else in the room and I felt something brushing my skin. It last what felt like a few minutes but I think it was probably like 30 seconds. After I researched it and realized what it was it wasn't as scary. Had it happen another time on vacation in DR. Same thing, woke up and couldn't move and it looked like something was in the room coming near me. I was pretty hungover so I'm guessing dehydration could have been my cause from being in the sun and drinking for days straight, but I was calm since I knew it wouldn't last long.
Oct 24, 2017 nah that's lucid dreaming (when you become aware you are in a dream but don't wake up). mirrors don't work like they do in real life because your constantly hallucinating pretty much. I think some other whack s--- happens too, like lights wont work (because it's night time outside of your dream) and apparently if you look at your hands they are weird. the times i've lucid dreamed though i've never bothered to look at my hands or do any s--- like that
Oct 24, 2017 Jesus christ, that s--- sounds dope as f---. Can anyone have sleep paralysis for once ? I want that s--- :D
