Jan 4, 2019 Yeah i tried last year but it wouldn’t take my card and i didn’t have my paypal set up yet
Jan 6, 2019 Chase Owens aligning himself with the OG'S was the biggest angle on the show, and Yoshi-hashi returning was actually presented as a draw for the main event. I couldn't imagine anyone possibly caring. They needed to have The Elite/Jericho show up or at least one hot match, it felt like your average middle of the tour geek show that even someone like me skips. Fumi and Dave talked about how running a bigger building would make it like the Raw after Mania, but the format itself needs to change if they want to attract and sustain a bigger audience. Alternative promotions spread through word of mouth, and it's very hard to get people to care as it is with the time difference. Sometimes there will be a great match or two on a random show, but if you don't watch after a day or two of hype it's gone from memory. Edit Not saying do more singles matches, but when all eyes are on your product, you should highlight more of what makes that promotion great. The last two New Year's shows were very eventful, and I remember going out of my way to watch Omega/Okada sooner after hearing about Suzuki's return and the hype for his Okada match.
Jan 6, 2019 100% agree- the last three years at Dash we had- AJ getting kicked out of BC, Suzuki’s return (which was so f---ing epic), and Jericho attacking Naito (showing he’s staying in njpw)/Jay White rejecting Kenny to join Chaos. This year didn’t have s--- as far as angles. I was really surprised because like you said, this is the time of year they have the most attention. Also this was the most streamed WK and since Dash was free on World I’m sure it was their most streamed Dash show and it was a let down. Only great thing on the show was the 6-man tag with the Ospreay/Kushida blow off (looks forsure now that he’s going to WWE) and Ishii/Nagata going after each other to start that feud.
Jan 6, 2019 Yeah, that Ospreay match was fun. Didn't even watch the main event, Naito going from Jericho to Taichi is mind blowing. Idk what Kevin Kelly was talking about, but he mentioned that NYD is shown on some channel in Japan that makes it one of the most viewed shows of the year. Missed opportunity.
Jan 6, 2019 Although the chance of it happening is probably really low I cant say that I'm not a little nervous about big name talents leaving njpw to go to wwe. I hope they take a good look at nakamura and see that they will not be taken care of
Jan 6, 2019 I think Kushida's pretty much confirmed to be going. The real question mark is what Kenny does next
Jan 6, 2019 It would devastating as a wrestling fan to see him have to conform to the wwe's way if things
Jan 6, 2019 the translation makes me think its a work tbh. He also took a break in 2017 after the Okada loss

Jan 7, 2019 I think it would be in his contract that he wouldn't have to change much of anything in his moveset or style tbh He'll get the AJ treatment, I'm 99.9% certain
Jan 7, 2019 With no articles then Bryan said today that very smart people have asked him how he wouldn't be in All Elite, and Dave said they pretty much need him. It was Jericho who campaigned to allow AJ to use the Styles Clash. Buddy Murphy uses most of Omega's moveset as it is. However, stylistically, he'll absolutely have to conform. The stark contrast between NXT and main roster style alone tells us that.
Jan 7, 2019 idk, we'll see at the end of Jan. I guess he might just be messing w/ us all and is just taking a break in general
Jan 7, 2019 My take: If he really was leaving Tanahashi would have kicked out of the one winged angel before winning. I think Kenny sings with AEW but still works a Brock Lesnar schedule for NJPW. The article seemed to very much be in character...similar to what he did in 2017 after WK.
Jan 7, 2019 He's not leaving until they do the Ibushi match either. All Elite with New Japan for the big shows seems most likely. He wasn't even on the December tag tour. I know his contract had less dates, but still.
Jan 7, 2019 Looks like kushida is confirmed to leave at the end of the month https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&sou...aw1e8Apc2kn8w0i512Lu_cJt&ust=1546948049257023
Jan 7, 2019 If kenny does end up leaving I wonder if that had anything to do with his (imo) lackluster run with the title. I definitely expected there to be more umph from him
