Jan 7, 2019 So, New Japan is going to continue to work with ROH, but All Elite is out for now. Ospreay said what could be considered a farewell to Kenny on Twitter. Haven't listened to Observer radio, too upset. Not that anyone cares, but I watched TNA's Homecoming PPV tonight. It was pretty great. Rich Swann/Jake Crist/Ethan Page/Trey Miguel (Ultimate X) - 4 Eddie Edwards vs Moose (Falls Count Anywhere) - 4.25 Sami Callihan vs The Mack - 3.5 Eli Drake vs Abyss (Monster's Ball) - 3 LAX vs Pentagon & Fenix - 4.75 Taya vs Tessa Blanchard - 3.5 Cage vs Johnny Impact - 4.25 QUOTE="Raziel, post: 3163441, member: 2059"]If kenny does end up leaving I wonder if that had anything to do with his (imo) lackluster run with the title. I definitely expected there to be more umph from him[/QUOTE]To no fault of his own, nothing happens after Dominion until G1 (in which Kenny had multiple five star matches and dominated), there's nothing after the Destruction shows until the tag league. Awesome matches with Ishii/Fenix, two awesome tag matches. Kenny said after his match with Fenix that it was a mistake to not have him or Ibushi on that tag tour, and that some people in Japan were unhappy that the match was happening. He finished with a classic Tokyo Dome match. Okada could have done just as well in that time, but not better. New Japan went all in with Switchblade and the OG's, it was clear as day watching the shows and should have been clear as day the moment Okada lost on Friday, after that Ibushi finish. I can't believe this his happening.

I just thought that it would have been a super fulfilling, lengthy title run instead of feeling like a "hey, heres the belt while you're still here" kind of thing
Jan 7, 2019 So any thoughts on what the post-credits scene means? Kenny told Marty he lost his phone. So is that Kenny’s lost phone? Or am I missing something. And what’s the countdown? To kenny’s contract signing at the end of the month (after the njpw deal ends)?
Jan 7, 2019 @Raziel Well they did expect him to stay. He wouldn't have de-throned Okada if they thought he was leaving.
Jan 9, 2019 They've had a better show, better characters, and better wrestling than WWE's had in years since Callis took over. Edit I mean I don't care about it lol but I'll watch the big shows
Jan 9, 2019 After a few days and rewatching the whole event. Jay White vs Okada stole the show for me. Okadas arc of refinding the rainmaker is gonna be a great story to follow and Jay White finally showed atleast in my opinion he is gonna be the next big thing. Also I really don't think Kenny leaves. I believe if he can't force NJPW to work with AEW then he will just work a freelance contract with both companies. Afterall New Japan is still interested in Y2J & he has interest in facing Tanahashi
Jan 10, 2019 At 15 minutes it felt like a speed run of every great match he's ever had. Jay to me is still the guy who you put in with a top talent, not a top talent who can elevate others. Omega went from being a junior to the star of the show against Tanahashi in a month, it's taken Jay a year and he's still not a top level talent in ring yet. The Tana match is going to be great, but it's because of Tana. Edit Omega also had close to a decade of experience on Jay when he got moved up, so it's not really fair to compare.
Jan 10, 2019 I I watched the last 3 matches again last night and I would agree with you except I would have loved for them to have a little more time to flesh it out toward the end. I feel like it was slightly rushed. I absolutely love the naito/y2j match, I go back and forth with that one and the omega/tanahshi match being my personal favorite of the night. I think my favorite moment is when naito spys with his little eye the championship belt and hits jericho then proceeds to LAUNCH that b---- lmao.
Jan 11, 2019 I would take 2019 Mike Tenay to be the lead announcer for AEW over 2019 J.R. in a heart beat. J.R. is my favorite announcer of all time, but what I don't need is him saying which attitude era star the guys in the ring remind him of, in every match of the night.
Jan 11, 2019 Big Dave's ratings are in: Gauntlet: Cobb/Finlay/Nagata vs. Page/Scurll/Yujiro 1.75, Cobb/Finlay/Nagata vs. Goto/Best Friends 3, Cobb/Finlay/Nagata vs. Suzuki/KES 1.5, Makabe/Taguchi/Yano vs. Suzuki/KES 3 Ibushi vs. Ospreay: 4.75 BUSHI & Takagi vs. Desperado & Kanemaru vs. Roppongi 3K: 3.25 Ishii vs. Sabre: 4.25 EVIL & SANADA vs. GoD vs. Young Bucks: 4 Cody vs. Robinson: 3 Ishimori vs. KUSHIDA: 3.5 Okada vs. White: 4.5 Jericho vs. Naito: 4.75 Omega vs. Tanahashi: 5.5
Jan 13, 2019 Just watched the omega/Tanahashi match again. So f---ing good man, they did an amazing job telling the story. I loved how each man to some degree abandoned his reputation to try to fight the other man's fight and it bit them in the a---. I think this may be one of my favorite of omegas performances during his reign as champion. Id want to watch the ishii and ibushi matches from last years g1, the 2nd okada match and the g1 final match with Naito to see where it ranks as my personal favorite
