@Pinhead Barnett was borderline passable but I'm sorry JR was awful again. Nothing has changed, he isn't able to call moves by their names he doesn't show complete knowledge of the roster and often devolves into dumb little jokes when he gets confused. It's very noticeable

@Sign Language why? New ownership with some talented people. New guys in, old guys out. New creative with some smart minds. Ratings on the rise after some apparently good shows and main events. They're doing a joint show with Lucha Underground which looks to be an insane card.

It's still a nationally broadcasted wrestling show, which means more people are working and more people are watching. That's what we need right now.

@Big Dangerous I vividly remember you going against me when I bitched about him last year lol. JR has never been good at calling the action, but Barnett was the one this time around calling moves wrong (or using MMA terms) and missing certain facets of the story. JR was actually the one who pointed out that one of the Tongan's used the Cross Rhodes, which Barnett inexcusably missed. I was losing my mind during the Ospreay match, neither of them knew the Space Flying Tiger Drop or Robinson Special. Like come the f--- on. The Switchblade match was even worse. I lost it when Hangman was going for his Buckshot Lariat and Jay wouldn't move back for it, they had no idea what was going on lmao.

I'd prefer Kevin & Don any day of the week, but I do think JR was more up on the intricacies of the guys characters and move-sets than he used to be. Just not for the ROH guys.

    He was still bad

Maybe I did defend him last year simply for the fact that he was JR but I did not defend how bad he was. I prefer Kelley and Don big time JR should stick to wwe

Big match Kenny stealing the show yet again :kissyomega2:

@Pinhead was that the best young bucks match ever?? Best one I've watched tho I'm only actually familiar with their new Japan stuff from the past year or two

It was a tremendous match and obviously had a lot of great story thought put into it, but there were times were they weren't as concise as they could've been and a botch here and there. You could tell they were being super ambitious and could've easily bit off more than they can chew

I wouldn't go the full 5 but ive only rated one tag match 5* so

Arguably. I'd take the six man they had with Adam Cole vs Sydal/Ricochet/Ospreay over it. There was a three way tag last year against Sydal/Ricochet and Penta/Fenix which would be close. The ladder war match last year was insane, as was the street fight they just had a few weeks ago. It's right there with the best.

I saw a fan video of the Cross Slash they botched and Ibushi's recovery was like he didn't even blow the move, looked amazing. Their rolling flip s--- they do that they f----- up along with them almost killing Matt on the ring post gave it a dangerous vibe that a lot of the matches I really love always seem to have. Kinda reminded me of last years Omega/Naito match, the screw ups just made it feel more real and played into the fight of it.

What's that five star tag match? I got that six man above and Ibushi/Marifuji vs Kenta/Ishiimori. Maybe Austin/HHH vs Jericho/Benoit.

I haven't seen the Japanese tag match you mentioned (I know it's great but can't find it anywhere) , I think Austin/HHH vs Jericho/Benoit is 4.75

the best tag match (and one of the best overall matches) I've ever seen is Toyota and Yamada vs Dynamite Kansai and Mayumi Ozaki on a card called st battle. I discovered it when I was on my AJW kick last year and it was my favorite match next to Toyota Vs Hokuto. Highly recommend if you enjoy that era and company

I think I've seen one (great) Toyota match that you posted here from before I started keeping track. Heard Meltz and Sempervivie talk about her when she retired last year, apparently has a f--- ton of five star matches. She never pops up on the sites I use to peep Dave ratings so I always forget to check her out.

Here's the Ibushi tag. Him and Kenny also had a match against Apollo 55 which won best bout in Japan the year it happened which I have at 4.75. Kind of a shame they didn't work more New Japan shows back then and now they're together at a time when they've become two of the best wrestlers on the planet. As awesome as it was to see Ibushi have great matches in the Cup, I'm really eager to see Kenny have another big singles match in Japan. Looking like Dominion or G1 at this point. NO idea what to expect of the Cody match.

    edit

Sakura Genesis card for next Sunday.

    Okada vs Zack Sabre Jr
The Golden Lovers vs Cody & Hangman Page
    Ospreay vs Marty Scurll
El Desperado & Kanemaru vs Roppongi 3K vs Hiromu & Bushi
Naito/Evil/Sanada vs Suzuki/Archer/Davey Boy Smith Jr.
    Tanahashi/Juice/Finlay vs Goto/Switchblade/Yoshi-hashi
    Fale/Tama/Loa vs Makabe/Taguci/Elgin
Ishii & Yano vs Taichi & Ilzuka
The Young Bucks vs Chase Owens & Yujiro (lmao)

The top three matches, on a Sumo Hall show, should be f---ing amazing. Bucks match and 3-way tag should be good as well.

As expected, this was a major show.

Okada vs Zack Sabre Jr. - 4.75
Ospreay vs Marty Scurll - 5
The Golden Lovers vs Cody & Hangman Page - 4
The Young Bucks vs Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi' - 3.5
    David Finlay/Juice/Tanahashi vs Goto/Switchblade/Yoshi-hashi - 3.5
    Suzuki & KES vs Naito/Evil/Sanada - 3.75
    Kanemaru & Desperado vs Bushi/Hiromu vs Roppongi 3K - 3.75

Ospreay nearly died, ended up having one of his best matches. These two are magic together and stole the show. Lots of sequences, reversals from spots they've been hit with before, the usual on a big match stage when the guys know each other. The goal was to elevate Ospreay + show Marty's vicious side, and some of these nasty bumps and strikes sold that perfectly. A total war. The Okada match was a ZSJ match until it became an Okada match. Awesome as it sounds, I'm sure. Golden Lovers match was great until the cheese finish.

    Bad Ospreay bump.

Quite a lot of blood between him and Cody tonight.

I'd appreciate it either way. I started working back in January and haven't had a,weekend off since then so it's been near impossible to do anything
