Apr 28, 2016 For the record, sales projections aren't even a direct reflection of one's popularity. More like a testament to how effective marketing and promotion that precedes a project's official release truly is. And it's obvious Drake's Campaigning has been genius since it's clearly targeting the right purchasing audience. With that being said, people don't do numbers like that anymore. If he sells 500,000 in two weeks, I'll be surprised. That doesn't have s--- to do with how popular he is. Nothing. But somehow, people can't seem to comprehend that Elementary Level of Thinking's Concept. It doesn't take much to decipher s--- correctly. I hear Hotline Bling more than I can stand, and I've never finished more than 8 bars of One Dance. So there's that. The dude will always be a success. However, the passion to actually create an album that's equally as infectious as it is introspective and stellar in every other aspect besides popularity, is not a sentiment Drake has the ability to possess anymore.
