May 3, 2016 So lately whenever I've listened to Barter 6, I've always wondered "How did I not understand him back then?" For context sake, I was still in my reel hip hop phase, but I was moving away from Em's music. So I dug up this old review I made off the other forum, so you guys can maybe get a laugh, or overdose on the cringe. The intro wouldn't copy properly, but I basically said how I lost a bet with a friend, so I had to listen and review this album. I also made fun of how he claims Blood yet wears dresses and s--- ("now that's gangsta"). Also some parts of this s--- is over exaggerated because I thought it was funny. Cringe warning If cringe triggers you, look away. October 25th, 2015: How things have changed. Thanks again Narsh for showing me the error of my ways.
May 3, 2016 Pretty sure my reaction was something like "why is he naked", "what's wrong with this cover", "why is Birdman here lol", "wtf T.I? WHY?! WHY DO YOU DO THIS T.I?" "What the f--- is wrong with his voice","what is he trying to say" "oh god autotune", "okay dude's kinda a funny joke with this wayne biting" "yea the beats are cool but ima just delete this", "yeah aaaaaaand back to Eminem" And STILL after that for some reason i went and listened to the album again, and again, and it all clicked one song at a time. I think the starting point for it was the unfinished song Birds that leaked with a bunch of other stuff. Brrrp pa pa pa pa EDIT: yup it was this
May 3, 2016 What couldve possibly happened in a few months that made you go from thinking s--- like check, numbers, cant tell, just might be are trash and thug isnt an artist to loving barter 6 and thug? I don't buy it. i mean i guess i was sort of skeptical at first too and I had some gripes with certain s--- in his music before I learned to appreciate it a bit more but idk. s--- dont add up to me
May 3, 2016 Going into a project close minded and not properly giving him a chance. Sometimes things don't click right away either. There was once a time when I thought Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang, etc. were incredibly overrated. Also Narsh lmao.
May 3, 2016 I guess. I mean yeah reading other peoples views at times can be eye opening but this is extreme lol. What are your thoughts on b6 now? I know you like it, but what do you like/dislike about it?
May 3, 2016 You keep criticizing and laughing at these "reel hip hop fans" like you just discovered something new They are dumb, we get it, no need to be narcissistic about it and try so hard to fit in Chill out
May 3, 2016 I enjoy it and play it quite a lot. My only complaint is Numbers is a little boring at times, and the beat isn't as great as I used to think about it. Everything else I like. I didn't read many posts in this thread prior to giving him a chance. I just asked Narsh for the best tracks on SS2, and after I started enjoying those, I slowly went through the rest of the tracks and once I got used to his voice and what he was doing, I became a fan. I'm not the biggest fan of his older projects (ICFN, etc.) though.
May 3, 2016 I haven't said anything about them in this thread. My only mention of it was that I was still in that phase at the time I originally wrote this review. I don't know why that triggered you now.
May 3, 2016 numbers is goat...thug so aware on it, s----s touching. "Wait, lemme pick up his remaiiins" "swear to god i want tears from his mother" I feel you tho, tbh ur post seemed a little disingenuous at first. I got the same vibe @Pato v2 picked up but i kno what u mean.
