Aug 26, 2016 my very first job was working grounds crew at summerfest in milwaukee, wisconsin outkast was performing one night and i got to see them live for free. and i saw andre behind stage and he was like 600 feet from me. outkast will always have a special place in my heart--because they were one of the first few hip hop acts i got into when i was in my early teens what i admire about outkast is how their first album sounds nothing like their second---ATLiens. both of these projects are awesome, but ATLiens is more like their conscious album---whereas southern is more commercial/radio. two dope ATLiens elevators good read WPG
Aug 27, 2016 I remember "Elevators" as a single in '96 but, at least in NYC, they weren't getting too much attention. My boy had their album but I wasn't really checking for them back then. That was the year the Fugees broke out, Jay, Nas' 2nd album, Ghost, Pac etc. Classic album nonetheless. I really became an Outkast fan with Aquemini. That record had a bigger impact at least in the Tri-State area. By then the South had planted stronger roots commercially.
