    i mean at these publications they have to universally agree on something. its why u cant just go on pitchfork and just give a 10 to something u think deserves it.

    i mean did u read the article? he isn't necessarily praising the music, but the strategy of releasing it an the influence of streaming in general

    it is, though. integrity is all any of us have. you can make all the threads you want calling me wrong or stupid or whatever, but i'm not gonna stand for you suggesting i'm bought and paid for. you should apologize, frankly.
    i would say that this is the reverse: in rap, at least (or for major rappers), there are characteristics that are supposed to/assumed to separate albums from everything else. i would go more in depth but i'm on a deadline; this column gets at my point from another angle.

    i think the unique thing about it is a wildly popular--but critically iffy--artist is, on a surface level, trying to distance himself from the dominant long-form format in an effort to play to his strengths.
