Dec 19, 2018 It doesn't take long to check out new releases my guy. A few hours of your day is nothing when you can just play stuff while doing your tasks or on your commute to and from work etc etc. If something sticks then just spin it a few more times. Discovering new music instead of being caught in a rut of the same s--- you listen to all the time is rewarding as a music fan. People really out here making out that listening to new music is way too hard or something like really?
Dec 20, 2018 I'm not a type of guy that can like too many things. If I need a background music I'd prefer listenin' deep house or things like that, not rap. WHat's the point of listenin' to a rap album when I can't pay attention to the lyrics, Maybe I might listen to turkish rap... The thing is you have to be introduced to new artist somehow. I check new releases out but if the albums are made by some artists I have never heard of I won't waste my time checking that out... EDIT: Btw, biggest reason I'm not checkin' new rap music out more often is the fact that, I'm not a huge fan of new rap music at all. Most of the time, it happens to be a waste of time...
Dec 20, 2018 I just realised you're ESL so I guess having rap as background music is a s--- idea. Still tho, you can afford to spend your time listening to rap music that's current when you're on your way to work or whatever. Again I must reiterate, a few hours out of your day listening to music is not a hard ask at all if you're willing enough. Music listeners tend to be curious and have an open mind to new things to the point that they can afford to spend their precious valuable time checking out a song. And if they like it enough, they can then fall down a rabbit hole and find more s--- that they like etc etc. There is hip-hop music that's current that's out there for EVERYONE. You just have to be open-minded enough to take the plunge. It's not a waste of time at all if you really do love music. Although you say that you need to be introduced to new music to give it a shot, earlier in the thread you sh---ed on a viable method of introducing you to new artists (aka the article in OP). Like, did you realise that songs are usually a few minutes long and for each project that Pitchfork listed, you can give each artist a shot by listening to the songs linked in there? Honestly I don't think you're THAT time poor. It's just close-mindedness tbqh with you before you've even had a chance to listen to something. I'll never understand people's mindsets to write something off before they ever give it a chance.
Dec 21, 2018 Dude seriously, why are u tryin' so hard rn ? I'M NOT A FAN OF NEW HIPHOP WAVE. I don't like it. Why would I waste my time checking out if I ever like one song among 100s of songs ? If you read all my comments I never said that those albums are trash. Infact, I said I don't wanna say much about them because I don't know anything about those albums on the list but MY POINT IS THERE ARE ONLY LIKE 100 PEOPLE LISTENIN TO THOSE s--- AND ALL OF THEM ARE THE FANS OF THE ARTIST ANYWAY. SO, OF COURSE THOSE ALBUMS ARE GONNA BE RECEIVED GREATLY, BUT AS FOR GUYS LIKE JAY Z OR WAYNE, THEY ARE SO HUGE THAT THEY'LL ALWAYS HAVE HATERS OR PEOPLE THAT DON'T LIKE THEIR MUSIC SIMPLY BECAUSE MILLIONS ARE LISTENIN TO THEM. IT'S NON SENSE TO COMPARE AN ALBUM BY GUY WIT 1000 LISTENERS AND A MILLION LISTENERS TO ME. I don't believe those critics really listen to those albums on the list neither. I bet most of them would prefer listenin' to KOD instead of those. Also, wonder why nobody really listen to those amazing albums on the list if they are so amazing and it's really nothing to check new music out. I mean if checking new rap s--- out is as easy as you said and it's not a waste of time, why those guys never really have many listeners ? MY WHOLE POINT WAS BASICALLY THOSE CRITICS ARE BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO TRIES HARD TO LOOK DIFFERENT AS THEY HAVE SOME KINDA SUPERIOR TASTE AND THEY SHOW IT BY MAKING THOSE LIST WITH BUNCH OF ALBUMS THAT NOBODY REALLY HEARD.
Dec 21, 2018 Into the mind of your average em Stan in 2018 It’s a dark place If you’re tryna get out Follow ordinary Joel He’ll getcha there
Dec 21, 2018 Not trying to get him mad I'll leave him be, he's not forthcoming with my discussion so what's the point I guess. Too headstrong.
Dec 21, 2018 Oh I didn't mean u lol. You try to actually talk to him. I mean that (not just itt but in other threads too) he and other eminem fans get triggered by bored people too quickly. If those posters hate eminem, but still choose to spend time in eminem threads, thats on them tbh and people like csa shouldn't get triggered so easily by them
