Jan 30, 2015 Drake and OVO. I wanted to hitch this forum on the backs of the select few artists who are taking this genre forward over the next 5 to 10 years (Kendrick & Drake). There's no real need for a Drake section sure, but it provides content for our SEO campaign which starts in a week.

Jan 30, 2015 Agreed. Label sections would be a terrible idea. Has anyone stopped to consider that if the artist sections are based off of relevancy/importance and recent projects, then what does us having an Eminem section right next to Kendrick and Drake say to anyone visiting the site? We're basically saying the three most important artists are Kendrick, Drake, J. Cole, and... Eminem.
Jan 30, 2015 I'd say it's active enough to warrant it (and regardless of how s-----y most people think Shady XV is, it's still a recent release), plus a bunch of the Stans who came through during the Roots thing actually stayed and post in other sections too.
Jan 30, 2015 Koolo and I didn't want an Eminem section when we were setting up the sections, but when people started making threads about Kim and Em's relationship, we knew it was a worse look having those threads in Music than if we just let those thread live in their own section. I feel like Music should be the first forum you see when you log in though, not Kendrick Lamar. Artist specific sections should go under the main forums. Thoughts on that guys? @Koolo @Slyk
Jan 30, 2015 Yeah, Kendrick being the first section is really the only thing that reinforces S80 being a Kendrick fansite at this point.

Jan 30, 2015 Oh I know, I should have worded that better. I meant that music SHOULD be at the top because Kendrick being at the top is the only thing that would make people (wrongly) assume this is a Kendrick fansite at this point in time. I've always been in support of the name Section Eighty to represent the culture/generation.
