Jul 4, 2020 Album on repeat, been following Pop since around September last year. Versatile, would have kept growing as an artist right through this decade. His death really shook me. Anyway, not many skips on this album, if any. Looking forward to the deluxe with a bit more Drill sounding beats. Interested in hearing the SHeff G song, and where that ASAP Rocky, Skepta Pop Smoke joint is at
Jul 4, 2020 Also glad it wasn't filled with Drill beats, he didn't want to box himself into that sound.
Jul 5, 2020 Album has made an incredibly strong impression on me within the first few days. The Woo and Something Special >>>>, Gangstas >>> , Snitching, Future’s verse lol, what a 180 this guy has made in my mind over the years, flawless. I can tell the first 5-6 joints will need some growing on me because everybody else loves them. Album got better to me as it kept going on and some lines gave me chills. Only skippable is the King Combs joint. Needless to say, musical direction considered, the world was seriously robbed of a star.
Jul 11, 2020 I'm starting a rumor that the deluxe is gonna be Meet the Woo 3 i checked in when this dropped last week and saw 4 threads about D12 on the front page and thought nah i'm done with this place lol
Jul 11, 2020 Bruh I’ve thought so much about the fact that D12 threads get more posts than threads about artists who debuted 20 years later who already have more music and better music than them looool not to mention d12 has been dead for 16 years
Jul 11, 2020 S80 has always been an Em forum to be fair. And anything remotely Em-related. Its just crazy that people can still be obsessed to this extent
Jul 11, 2020 44 Bulldog, Make it Rain, Got it on Me are my personal favorites. Gangstas was fascinating, sounds like it came straight out of the GRODT sessions. Surprised how well What You Know About Love and Something Special worked. Almost all the features were on point, Roddy and Future were incredible. Loved most of the album and glad we got to hear how we was starting to branch out and try new s---, even if some of it didnt work. Especially loved how he embraced the 50 influence and I think 50 did a great job pulling it all together. I am still kinda disappointed it was such a departure from the first 2 tapes but praying to the Drill gods that the deluxe is just straight AXL and 808melo beats with maybe a Sheff G feature or something.
Jul 11, 2020 totally agree, i love to see how much he owns up to his influences while still distinguishing himself i found a lot of the features to be unnecessary, with some exceptions ofc like swae lee or future for example id like to hear more of his drill music too im sure theres still more of it to be released
Jul 11, 2020 so far favs are got it on me gangstas 44 bulldog creature enjoy yourself (but i gotta say the leak with burna boy featured instead is what im thinking of when i say this)
