Jul 30, 2015 "Leaked by a friend of Eminem’s younger brother, Nate Mathers, who found a CD of works-in-progress lying around the house, this collection represents a snapshot of the solo material Eminem was creating during the post-8 Mile, pre-Encore era." according to Complex.. It just seems a strange way to leak something, even back in 2003 the mp3 scene was still massive. I cant imagine Nate's friend or whoever it was, getting this "CD" and then having it pressed on vinyl? just seems odd.
Jul 31, 2015 I have never heard of some of these titles... Are they songs I know just with different titles? For example: Explosion.
Jul 31, 2015 "Straight From The Lab" tracks leaked over several days starting with some snippets on November 20th. The first leaks were 128kbps and put out by a guy named PattyPancho/Paco. During this time there were groups putting these out as CDS/VLS. I saw several noob groups try to pass them off as legit releases, and even WCR had a "VLS" release of Monkey See Monkey Do where they just increased the volume and reversed the cuss words for a clean version. The Killah Kuts put out Come On/Canibitch and Bully/Monkey See Monkey Do on vinyl, and there's the previously mentioned Straight From The Lab vinyl. None of these predate the online leaks from Paco. If I remember correctly the full vinyl didn't show up until December. I don't have the vinyl scene release but maybe detroitskills can check the nfo and see if it has a rip date. I found some old AIM logs to clarify some things. Me: can he get older stuff like our house in cdq? Pattypancho: getting these songs was a one time thing Pattypancho: he stole the cd from ems brothers Pattypancho: car Me: how did you even find this guy? Pattypancho: he posted on a messageboard Pattypancho: but no one responded but me Me: it wasn't dashadyboard right? Pattypancho: no diff board Pattypancho: i was the only one who responded and walked him through the ripping process Pattypancho: i guess i got lucky Me: he didn't know how to rip a cd? not surprised he was dumb enough to steal something like this. Pattypancho: yeah lol Me: didn't you say it had like 20 tracks on it? what happened to the rest? Pattypancho: yeah Pattypancho: but a lot were released Pattypancho: some were 50cent Me: you remember any of the others on there? Pattypancho: there were like 2 more songs he never gave me Pattypancho: no names either I believe Monkey See Monkey Do was the first full track he leaked, followed by Come On In/6 In The Morning, and Canibitch. I did some trading with him and got Bully and Love You More in return. I leaked Love You More on D12World with the most obnoxious tags ever, they repeated the entire song, and I believe I was shouting ICP related phrases. Paco released an untagged version the next day. Me: send another song i've hooked you up with 4 already and you told me 1 for every 2. Pattypancho: dawg Pattypancho: tonight i will give you the kim song Me: why not now? Pattypancho: cause i'm waiting Me: for? Pattypancho: it's too long to explain Pattypancho: lol Me: try... Pattypancho: seriously man Pattypancho: aight Pattypancho: everybody claims to have these tracks Pattypancho: soon as i leak one someone jumps and says "i been having that track like a week ago" "i leaked it" " "i got 30 tracks" Pattypancho: i wanna sit back and watch how many tracks het leaked when i don't have s--- to do with it Pattypancho: which should be ZERO By the end of the week he leaked all of the tracks he had except for We As Americans. For some reason he told me he wasn't willing to trade for that song and he wanted to keep it rare. Two days later someone anonymous leaked it... I'm not sure if the CDR was ever ripped again properly, but even if it was a higher bitrate the sound quality is just odd. I can see why you guys think they originally came from vinyl, but I spoke with someone else that was friends with Nate and he said his version of Canibitch that he receieved from Nate the previous year was the same quality.
Aug 1, 2015 Thanks OWD, That pretty much clears everything up. But s---, It would be nice if the whole CD leaked.. might be different versions of songs on there, plus the 2 songs that he never gave him... oh well, another eminem mystery solved!
Aug 1, 2015 Adding to the vinyl source idea.. I used to make a lot of cpu acapellas back in the day, messing with different techniques, inversion, kn0ckout/phase cancellation were the most successful.. anyway, when the source is digital, i.e ripped from a CD, you can definitely tell when making acapellas, once you invert some instrumental bars over the part with vocals, your left pretty much with clear vocals, but when you have an analogue source, i.e vinyl, inversion does not work well at all, you need to switch to using the kn0ckout plugin and other methods. well.. back when these tracks first leaked, i tried as many different versions as i could find, the one's that leaked on forums, the scene releases, even bought a "promo cd" from ebay, they all had the same issue, they all came from an analogue source...
Aug 1, 2015 that's ok but my post wasn't supposed to be that serious you know, I just find it funny that Ems brother caused him that many problems although like I've said I believe that Eminem Show leaked earlier cause of Nate cause he took the CD to show it to some friends and they leaked it I'm not 100% if that's true tho @detroitskills ?
