    most of the records that spring to mind were made by one producer or a very small group of producers. that makes the albums like illmatic that much more impressive for being so cohesive.

    I've always felt most of Jay's seminal work were models for cohesion; never felt too long (usually 13-15 tracks) and well-sequenced.

    For a 2-disc it still amazes me how well put-together Summertime 06 came out to be. Other works that I want to shout-out:

    How has gkmc not being mentioned. That album sounds like it was all produced by the same person, very cohesive.
