    Updated this list of 100s.

    http://letterboxd.com/kamahmed/list/the-100s/

Felt mean spirited trying to reduce it. Maybe one day I'll scale it back, but not yet.

maybe Three colors: blue (Liberty!) or Journey to the West (neutral), Tree of life (inspiring), Man with a movie camera (innovative)
The rest are all pretty tragic :P

f---, im so pedantic and neurotic. I revised my list and took into account that I want to narrow my threshold for perfect films.
Here is my new list, the final 9. There's one place left for a film to blow me away and make my top 10. No more director's with 2 films, in any case I will prefer one to the other, thereby pushing away the idea of perfect for one of the two. No more Bresson, sad. Gave up on Rashomon, we had a good run as favourite film for a while (ps: my favourte of all time films have gone.. Butterfly Effect, Memento, Rashomon, Mirror. Right now Werckmeister Harmonies and Elegy of a Voyage are fighting to overtake Mirror). Kaagaz Ke Phool is out, but might be reinstated next rewatch. It was maybe the hardest to drop.

Awesome list :emoji_thumbsup: I didn't realize you were such a Wes Craven fan. There's a lot of s--- on here I haven't seen so I need to make this my next watch list.

As for new stuff, I recently saw The Forbidden Room and Victoria.

The Forbidden Room is f---ing nuts but I dug it. I don't think I liked it quite as much as @FilmAndWhisky (I think I slightly prefer the only other Guy Maddin film I've seen, My Winnipeg), but it is pretty dope. Maddin's style and sense of humor are certainly not for everyone, but with its stream-of-conscious, nested-egg storytelling and with its entertaining blend of dream logic and cinematic references, The Forbidden Room is definitely unlike anything out.

Despite the impressiveness of its technical accomplishment (an 130-minute film shot in one take), I was a bit disappointed by Victoria. The first half of the film, which is the stronger half, plays mostly like a hangout movie, including a rather sweet meet-cute scene. However, when it takes the drastic turn towards genre film is when it starts to squander its potential. Bogged down by idiotic character decisions, the film never quite utilizes its conceit to its full potential and, instead of aiding the narrative, it begins to feel like a limitation. While the one-take allows for a real-time immersion, one also distinctly feels the deadweight in the narrative, a slight premise stretched to two hours due to the constraints of shooting in one take. Nonetheless, the achievement is still striking and the decision does allow for a sense of controlled chaos, which gives it a certain tension that would otherwise be lacking with the release of an edit. Worth a look as an impressive, though not entirely successful experiment.

Knock Knock is dope af, King Keanu is really back :bigquint:

I saw Jafar Panahi's Taxi last night and while it did have some truly beautiful, resonating moments, I can't say I was a big fan overall. Panahi has the tendency to knock the audience over the head when trying to get his points across. I couldn't help but think that I've seen that concept executed much better in Abbas Kiarostami's Ten. Panahi is a good filmmaker no doubt but I don't feel that This Is Not a Film & Taxi are as groundbreaking as most people claim, Closed Curtain on the other hand I was a really big fan of.
