Oct 9, 2015 First song that comes to mind is 8 Mile. It definitely got overshadowed by Lose Yourself despite being (in my opinion) the better track.
Oct 9, 2015 "Remember back in '94, like right before Ms. Everlast was Whitey Ford Before his heart attack had him on life support When House Of Pain was out of fame like someone doused the flame And they became destined to never "Jump Around" again Or even further back, when I first had heard The Knack And you were down with Syndicate, I went to get your s---, man I was into it But then you went and took your style and switched the s--- Now you sound ridiculous you dickless piece of s-----how could you diss me, b----? I liked you, thought you was alright for a white dude, Remember Sway and Tech when I came up and sat beside you Started rhymin, then you left the room and didn't say goodbye or nothin? Like you mad that someone else was white and tried to rhyme or somethin I'm sorry man, I wasn't tryin to steal your light or nothin But you're a h----------, white rappin Irish Muslim Man I wish I was Irish, I could be a Mus-lim too And then I'd be confused as you, and I wouldn't know what to do What's up with you? I never f----- with you, why would you f--- with me? Knowing I could rap circles around you--What, you nuts as me? Plus I can sing better than you and I don't f---in' sing And probably play guitar better, and I ain't never touched a string But I ain't mad at you, I'd hate me too if I was you I'm what you used to be, s--- you was me in '92 So everytime I write a lyric, I'mma think of you And maybe that'll help me know what it's like to sing the blues" ^^ "I Remember" ^ This is the type of stuff that had me relating to Eminem back in the day--I always thought on the hook he was saying, "I remember all those years, How I'd buss when you were here." I figured he was talking about flipping burgers and bussing tables at Gilbert's Lodge (and that Everlast had frequented that restaurant or something)... I worked at a similar-style restaurant near there when time this song came out.. I thought the track was Em dissing Everlast as some bigger-than-his-bridges lame-o dude he'd frequently encountered fine-dining at Gilberts prior to Em's having blown up... I thought Em was saying "I Remember seeing your pompous a--- at Gilbert's back in the day while I bussed your table, well guess what I'm blowing up now and you'se a dickless piece of s--- cheah!!!!" Years later I found out Em was actually saying "I remember all those years, How it was when you were here" .. #InOtherUselessNews The last part of the verse in particular reminded me of the ending of "8 Mile" the movie... The whole tone of the song was reminiscent of that same underdog feeling, which is why I've always digged the flruck outta this song #RanDumb cheah Regardless, the way the first two singing verses lead up to the final rap verse is superior-type Eminem piff in my mind, paralleled only by "Hailie's Song" in the underlined regard, cheahcheahcheahcheahchehahcehahcehah [Voice of Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson in 'Fear&Loathing'] "Puuuuuure, ether...." [/]
Oct 9, 2015 I feel the song "Marshall Mathers" doesnt get its just due props. Seriously, that may have been one of if not the most ruthless songs in the history of hip hop. He attacked more people in one song than a lot of people do in their entire careers, and all of it was f---ing vicious. You felt the anger and rage without him even having to raise his voice that much.
Oct 9, 2015 I would say Groundhog Day. Never heard much about it on forums or video reviews after mmlp2 dropped. s--- had a BANGIN beat (which is refreshing to hear em on) & quite a vivid backstory of ems life.
Oct 9, 2015 any song from infinite, a lot of people think it's a s-----y album, but I actually like it a lot
Oct 10, 2015 No Apologies, I Remember, Despicable, Any Man and one of my favourites - BAD INFLUENCE(!)
