@Charlie Strangelove i absolutely love films with highly imaginative scenery and artistic expression.

Could you suggest me one since you seem to be a connaisseur of sorts??

That pretty much describes German expressionism, but I don't know if you like older/foreign movies.
Wes Anderson is also highly regarded for his set design. For some crazier, surreal stuff try Jodorowsky's work. The 1988 Alice is on Netflix and it's pretty crazy.

Maybe list some examples so I can more accurately recommend stuff.

Thanks a lot, i will look into the German expressionism. And Wes gets a lot of praise so i ought to give him a chance!

Yes i care deeply for old movies.

I didn't like the writing as much as the imagery of The Fall http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460791/

If you like The Fall, try Big Fish. That's a similar movie that I enjoy very much.

I feel Halloween should make you feel creep'd out or scared; so the obvious classics

    Halloween
    Trick 'R Treat
    Night of The Living Dead
    The Exorcist
    The Shining
Evil Dead 2 (more of a horror comedy)
    House
    Dead End

    Here's some that I recommend

    Sweatshop
    Vinyan
    Inside
    Rare Exports (Christmas Horror Film)
    Carnival of Souls

Hocus pocus is a must watch every year. I also love any of the halloweens. I want to dress up as scarecrow from batman but I think it would be kind of hard to Hangout all night with a burlap bag over my head
