i cant believe how few of you are not grasping the point of this thread

it was to see whether his career will be affected long term, which i think would be better off is his name and ghostwriting wornt mentioned to any extent.

Ghostwriting won't affect him as much as you think because as I keep reiterating, what he did doesn't even constitute the term 'ghostwriting'.

And I even brought up Jay Z and Kanye as an example. Have their legacies been THAT tarnished by these rumours? It may be a small blimp but it's not big enough to register on the bigger scale.

Yes, Kanye was a producer before he became a rapper but that's irrelevant. Like I said on the first page, Kanye is just as much a rap artist in 2015 as Drake is. Kanye isn't Dre or Timbaland or Puffy who clearly have relied on others to write a majority of their music behind closed doors for years. Kanye has always presented himself as someone who creates his own music/craft and so has Drake. Both do the same thing when it comes to writing their music, they collab with other artists/song writers. You can't criticize one and dismiss the other, that's totally hypocritical lol

To be honest, it has affected him more in the short term than it will in the long term. People will forget/get over/stop talking about this, like many have for other artists. I feel like the only reason why this is a big deal is because Drake is such a big artist and it was brought up in a beef. Before that no one put Drake in the same category as Biggie, Rakim & Big Pun as a lyrical/technical rapper.

Ok it might not be forgotten, but I reckon it will be less cared about and have little impact on how you rate him.
