Phenomenal was a revisit to the "Til I Collapse" fury on Eminem Show...Maybe we could be gettin a Eminem Show 2 type of album for 2016...Songs similar to Phenomenal and Psychopath Killer which have both showcased flashy dope flows and beats conceptually similar to Eminem Show

The new album just has to be very different. He has to have a different direction because that's how the marketing of his albums works. They use a "shocking value" as a part of the marketing. Example:

Crack A Bottle - out of nowhere, sequel to Encore, long time passed, the legend is back
The Warning Diss - reminiscing 10 year old events in order to cause controversy, not really working out along with the Relapse horror-core lyrics that were supposed to cause a controversy
Recovery - way different direction. Completely different Eminem with all-new looks. Use of pop artists and Lil Wayne who was on the top at that time to bring sales up. Really corny admittance of dissing Lil Wayne. Pathetic.
Survival - day before MMLP2 announcement. Was released before to make people think his style is the same and the album will be Recovery 2
MMLP2 - going back to MMLP. Berzerk - complete opposite of Survival. They hype was just huge for me. I had a nightmare after seeing him blonde again, Royce was right.

New album can be more singing and finally become the right Recovery with beats like Dare to Dream
Or can use a Slim Shady flow and voice and go back way back in time, although he has nothing to talk about.

I dont wanna hear conscious stuff in the club but yet I dont wanna hear slap stick Future or Wayne all the time either...Phenomenal was very motivational....I do agree that Em was a lot more balanced in 2002 but I dont agree that its for 13-16 yr olds that statement made me mad

Tbh we have a better chance at a mmlp3 than we do at a TES2.
There is no 'show' for eminem to rap about. His life is nothing what is used to be like.

The next album is not going to be a sequel.

Let me paraphrase. I did like it at first. I think I am just changing my musical preferences. And I didn't want to make you mad or anything. I was just going to put the point that he tries hard and it's obvious. I just don't like his flow. The hook is great though. Does sound like 2002 Eminem.

His new joint is just going to sound like THIS album f----- THAT album. With a track here and there reminiscent of something he did on his classic records. A little above average... we feel a bit used... on to the next one!

Honestly, You just admitted by your keyboard that Eminem is too smart for you to understand his lyrics and wordplays.

Drake lyrics are stupid,, yes it is catchy and relaxing , and I like to listen to his songs sometimes, but his content is bs and he's nowhere near Eminem.

I agree, Eminem 2002 was much balanced, but the 2015 is dope as f--- too in a different way..

I'm 1000% sure, doubters will be amazed by Eminem's new album..

They already said Medicine Man gonna s---, but eventually, it was the best song on the album (arguably) and the most selling one (fact).

The Hills contributed to 35% of the original song sales,,, It was just a remix, and sold one third of the biggest hit in 2015.

He was dope, he didn't sell just because of his name.. Snoop Dogg has big name, Dr.Dre has, 50 Cent has, Kanye Has,, but they are not in Eminem's league.

Honestly, while listening to Forever, don't you realize all the new rap is bs ???? I always skip to Eminem verse cause I can't stand it

I have high hopes for the new album idk, The fact that he actually said he is more aware of the s--- he has been releasing was very comforting I guess. I'm happy that he is taking his time with it and looking for a new direction to take his music. I want a recovery done right . No more sequels, no more trying to be edgy s---, no more living in the past he needs to reinvent himself.

My opinion changes from time to time. I don't like 75% of Drake's stuff. I'm just saying that new Em will never recreate his old music. You do agree with me on certain things, and I agree with your post above. I am actually enjoying Medicine Man a lot and I love the Hills, it's just something not enough in any of those. Please refrain from the profanity, I agree with you, just saying that the flow and absence of topics show the lack of the old vibes. And yeah, it's funny to see that when you try to criticize people go mad, but when I used to praise him, people were pissed too. This is a forum for the discussion, that's it man.

Oh, then sorry, and I agree with you.

I know what you mean.. like he had a unique charisma in 2002, and it seems difficult for him to recapture the magic. He was just flawless.

but he's just the same funny, humble, and intelligent person.. just chose to calm down.

I'm still viewing him as flawless, and still think he's the perfect sequel for the old Eminem.

When Eminem name is attached people raise their expectations.

it might be nostalgia, reminiscing, or less-appreciation of his new different skills.

I see something in his new music most of his fans don't appreciate.. like Shady XV song if you focus how its well written, you'll consider it at least top 30 at least, but some fans say its trash, Right for me is my s--- it is raw masterpiece, Die Alone was awesome,,,, all of these songs are perfect for me. It is no less than any song in MMLP, SSLP, or TES artistically.

For medicine man and the Hills I agree,, he didn't go full beast mood, just because He didn't rap enough.

Medicine man had only one verse and killed it, but we needed more.
The hills, it was remix, and the original song is stuck in people head and will be always the best. (but even though many people loved it more than the original).

Lately I found it enjoying to notice the internal rhymes, scheme and flow changes in Eminem songs.

And sometimes he plays with his voice in sync with his lyrics.. like Legacy, 1st verse was young, 2nd was middle aged, 3rd is he's now.

He rapped with Yoda voice, sometimes he raps with the demon voice for a second when saying something evil, etc..
