Mar 5, 2017 Not surprised at all by how the fight played out. Laughable decision to avoid the awkward situation of back to back draws and a third fight nobody wants to see. Their styles break the 10 point must. Whoever commits, loses the exchanges. So the smartest move is to wait. So they both wait. It's hilarious. Honestly thought Woodley won the first fight IF the scoring system was more indicative of reality. This was at most a draw. Woodley got 3 and 5, the latter arguably a 10-8. Indefensible scoring it 48-47 in his favor. Ridiculous really.
Mar 5, 2017 Yea its gotta be Masvidal/Maia winner. Honestly don't even really like that fight, should pull Maia and give him Woodley in July (either 213 July 8th or 214 July 29th) and have Masvidal fight Magny or DHK. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Nick Diaz starts getting mentioned, with the way things have been going lately. Zero chance they were running that back again if it was a draw.
Mar 5, 2017 The two judges who scored it 48-47 Woodley gave him Rounds 2,3 & 5 How the f--- did he win round 2 lol
Mar 5, 2017 The best part is all of the media who scored it that way are on Twitter saying that """cage control people are wrong"""". MFers are deluded if they think you can give Woodley round 2 according to the scoring criteria as they currently stand.
Mar 5, 2017 Totally unrelated to UFC 209 but I decided to pass on UFC Kansas City because I though Rose vs Waterson was gonna be the main event so I pay off a bunch of debt and now I'm broke as f--- and they announce DJ/Reis and Jacare for the card
Mar 5, 2017 UFC rules Wonderboy wins 3-2 no questions whatsoever PRIDE rules Woodley wins for actually fighting for 120 seconds of the fight. Definitely don't ever want to see them fight again Surprised noone is mentioning Rashad, LOL Seriously though what a s--- f---ing card, the UFC royally f----- this one up by not making it a 209 Diaz spectacle. Could've made a massive PPV out of this but now they'll be lucky to crack 300k buys.
Mar 5, 2017 Teymur/Vannata being the spiciest fight of the year, Reem killing Hunto, Elkins rising from the dead, a non-elite wmma fight that didn't k--- the card, Alcantara's comeback, 4 decisions on the entire card... Was a great event. No clue what people expected out of the Woodley/Thomspon rematch if they saw the same first fight that I did lol.
Mar 5, 2017 I know Rogan was praising Woodley Thompson as not being bad, he really enjoyed the fight as it was tactical and such. But, it just was not that great. I understand guys feeling each other out, sending faints and testing the others reaction to things but there was not much action really happening. I think it should have been a draw. When Woodley rushed Thompson at the end I knew he'd win the fight because basically there wasn't much that happened throughout the rest of it. I think the stat at the end of round 4 for strikes was 24/76 Thompson, 20/70 for Woodley? Like s---. Dana said it doesn't really raise Woodley's stock after a fight like that and I agree (call me racist as Woodley would). He wants these money fights and huge match ups but after a fight like that I don't know.....maybe it's because I'm not in the octagon with either of them but it just doesn't scream great. I can say it definitely was the lowest title fight I've seen since starting to watch back from UFC 100 (July 2009). The co-main event was entertaining though. Reem and Hunt wasn't too bad, Reem ran a bit which is always entertaining to see a 6'4" intimidating looking guy turn his back and run away from his opponent lol. That knee though was pretty d--- brutal. Rashad looked like he was in good shape but couldn't seal the deal. It was kind of funny he looked like he was fighting a Wal Mart manager haha based off of body types but s--- Daniel Kelly won so much respect on that. Some friends told me to watch The Hurt Game on Netflix apparently it's a pretty good documentary about the UFC and losing fighters.
Mar 5, 2017 lol at the Diaz brothers even being an option. Those clowns are turning down title fights left and right and won't answer the phone for anything less then 20 Million. The UFC tried to get them on the card.
Mar 5, 2017 Main event was total garbage, one of the worst main events I've seen and that's ridiculous considering how great the 1st fight was. Rest of the card was good though but hard to make up for that very disappointing main event.
