May 29, 2017 The Wii U and the Switch were not fails, they just don't match against the PS4 & Xbox. Nintendo is known for being stubborn and not changing with the times. How long did it take them to transfer to disc? Up until the GameCube, which was behind PS1, PS2, and XBOX. They even sit on IPs they own. Where is a GOOD starfox and meteroid? Golden Sun? F-Zero? Even f---ing Earfbound, one of the greateast RPGs ever, has been in storage for years. Nintendo should just become Sega and create software. Do u agreeee?
May 29, 2017 They started doing games fo smartphones, so maybe they are just testing ground for now. Would certainly love them to do so, I'm not buying switch for one game
May 29, 2017 Nah. idk why people keep holding Nintendo to the same standards as Sony and Microsoft, they appeal to a different audience. The Switch isn't trying to compete with the PS4 or Xbox One, they've got their lane and their cool with that, nobody is debating over whether to buy a PS4 or a Switch in a given year.
May 29, 2017 Because Nintendo is also a gaming company? They want money and if everyone is flocking towards the other 2, and people realize it's stupid to dish out 500 dollars just for 2 games, their sales will drop. They've dabbled in mobile apps for a while like wsky said, it'd be a smart move to just create games and sell to other outlets
May 29, 2017 I think so... They haven't inspired this generation with anything really. Everything I see is NES, SNES, N64 and the GameCube... These consoles may have been "behind the times" but they had good games, they inspired people and they had the best people working on them as well. I haven't seen anything from the Wii or the Switch even that has influenced anything. Those Mii's are more of a joke then anything that a person would remember. What kid is going to buy a 3DS when they've got Smartphones that do the same thing and more. Why buy a Switch when Microsoft and Sony are working hard to make their consoles into something exceptional. I can't even get Netflix on a Switch yet... The only thing that Switch has is Legend of Zelda and maybe Mario but really, those games should of been released for other consoles. Zelda would of sold a shitload if it was on the Xbox, it would of given game developers incentive to use that as inspiration if it were on the PS4 but instead, Nintendo is using it to convince people to buy a product that hasn't been fully tested or realized it's full potential yet. Nintendo makes exceptional games but the Wii and Switch are try-hard and based on marketing. There is nothing special, unique or even fun that makes them worthwhile so yeah, they should be a third party game maker.
May 29, 2017 Sega wasn't successful with it b/c consumers lost trust after them dropping the saturn, 32x, jaguar, etc.
May 29, 2017 I'd love to see Nintendo lend their s--- out to other developers but not go multiplatform. Like if the Skyrim or Dark Souls n----s made a Zelda game, something like that. Imagine a triple A dev making a Metroid game. Metroid would hit a wave of popularity it ain't ever seen. (Other m don't count that s--- was for weebs)
May 29, 2017 Other M was so f---ing trash bro. Imagine killing cats in SSB with party chat, team battles, and a real storyline on an Xbox or Ps4. Nintendo games on PC. The new zelda on a titan x in 4k? f--- is nintendo doing jesus.
May 30, 2017 just k--- the fa----s, they are literally selling a f---ing box. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-is-selling-an-empty-splatoon-2-box/1100-6450226/ How anyone can defend this stupid f---ing company is beyond me. "but they make fun games!" breath of the wild, is one game.
May 30, 2017 Nintendo should just drop the price of their console below the PS4 and Xbox 1. Like others have said, they aren't competing with the 2 big home consoles. Not paying over $300 for a console just to play Zelda or Mario Kart. But $149, I might and a lot of people would. Sell more consoles and you'll sell more software. Games is where they make their money anyways.
May 30, 2017 You'd be surprised How Nintendo isn't a meme in the gaming industry by now is a mystery to me I'd love for them to become 3rd party, drop their prices and lend out the IPs to other companies just so I don't have to see gamers(fools) buy these s-----y consoles for $300-$500 games only to play Zelda New Gen and Mario Kart 10: the 8th deluxe edition gold New Gen version
May 30, 2017 But it'll never happen. Nintendo already has the little work big payoff game on lock. They put effort and money into a handful of games every generation that they know the hardcores will buy and praise, all the meanwhile putting out hundreds of s-----y games and an underpowered obviously dead last console. Then they repeat next generation They had the nintendrones jizzing their pants for Skyrim ffs. Games like 6 years old
May 30, 2017 They are always backed by people blinded by nostaglia and it's stupid. They have no other games at all. All the games people bought the switch for, were already on the Wii U
May 30, 2017 The only threat nintendo has is emulators on PC. I've heard of some and even though they're in the beta stage, it's not too long until PC becomes the place for nintendo games.
May 30, 2017 Them lowering the price SOUNDS smart to us, but to them they'd think it's a stupid strategy and they'd rather pander to the 1000 nintendo nerds that buy mario kart dlc instead of trying to invite a new crowd
May 30, 2017 Nintendo should use 2k series as an example. They released NFL 2k5 and NBA 2k5 for $20 to lure a new crowd and get them to try them over the juggernauts Madden and NBA Live. We all know what happened to the NBA live series and if not for the NFL coming up with a BS exclusive deal, the same thing might have happened to Madden.
May 31, 2017 Only read your first line... Both of these consoles were not meant to compete with the PS and Xbox. It's designed as either a kids machine or or second console. And in answer to your main question, no they shouldn't. Just use Sega as the case study to see how this would end up. Nintendo have dominated the handheld market for decades. Nothing needs to change there.
