    Whole thing is a joke. Album is great, not as great as d--- but great. But selling a million copies to Sprint and them giving those copies away to their customers is in no stretch of the imagination going platinum, it's fake as Bow Wow's jet. If it counts as platinum it counted when U2 put their trash album into everyone's itunes.

    Because there's no other reason than to show off and keep up this successful, I'm a boss-like narrative he is just gonna get a big corporation to buy him a plat plaque every time he drops an album forever now? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

    Edit: kinda made sense with mchg bc the album was so braggadocio and superficial I just feel like he should've let the music speak for itself this time around I don't see what he has to prove

    i think it's perfectly fine. Either way, no one reaches platinum by just having one person buy 1 copy of the album.

    it's not like anyone else out there can get someone to buy a million copies of their album. I get what you're saying as far as it taking away from the prestige of reaching platinum, but with streams and other changes RIAA made, reaching platinum doesn't hold as much weight as it used to anyways when it was just pure sales.
