SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Police in Northern California are responding to reports of a shooting at YouTube headquarters in the city of San Bruno.

City Manager Connie Jackson says there have been multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting and that police and fire officials have responded.
TV helicopter video shows officers patting down people grouped outside a building and police vehicles surrounding the area. San Bruno police said they could not provide more information.

The world's biggest online video website is located on a suburban campus.

Calls and emails to YouTube representatives were not immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.

Another law enforcement source told ABC7 News reporter Dan Noyes that the shooter is a white, adult female wearing a dark top and head scarf. A second law enforcement official told reporter Vic Lee the shooter is a woman.

An eyewitness told ABC7 News' Dion Lim that he was working at Youtube when the alarm went off at the building. He left the facility on his skateboard, and went through the outdoor plaza, where he saw at least one person on the ground with what he believed to be a gunshot wound. The witness, a senior software engineer, said the shooter appeared to be a man, conflicting with reports of a female shooter.

"When you see someone with a shot to the stomach, you expect the worst but pray for the best," he said.

The source told ABC7 News multiple people have been injured, including a shot to the chest. There are no reported fatalities at this time.

A spokesperson for Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital confirms they're receiving patients from the shooting at their facility. They added patients are also being transported to other Bay Area hospitals.
