But if I remember correctly, he was talking to major labels after his early success with songs like Pop the Trunk. I believe he was negotiating with Interscope and they referred him to Paul and shady records.

Aug 22, 2018 Personally I'm thankful to shady for putting me on Griselda. As you've said they don't wait on anybody, and they are droppin their own s--- which is dope. Griselda is honestly a breath of fresh air in this current climate. The new El camino joint is on some serious s--- for a rapper of his age. Conway is a lyrical throwback to that nas/jay/mob deep/lox. Dude is amazing. Westside gun is like on some fly s--- and reminds me of Ghostface. Daringer is my favourite producer at the moment bar none. I don't care if they never drop a project on shady personally! They've got a new fan as far with me regardless.
