Fox News is practically state news. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Like, people love to s--- on CNN here but Fox News is the most watched cable news network in the country & this is not even the most embarrassing thing they’ve pushed this year.

My 2020 #hottake: Trump loses the GOP primary via contested convention to an establishment challenger. This enrages Trump & prompts him to run as an independent, doubling down on how both major parties are crooked. Democrats win in a landslide due to a split conservative vote.

Assumptions under this take: a) House Democrats impeach trump but a Republican majority in the senate acquit him (though 1-2 republican senators vote w/ democrats furthering a divide in the Republican Party) and/or b ) The U.S. economy is in or on the brink of recession.

If something drastic happens like impeachment or the economy goes into recession, I think it could happen. Trump’s approval rating is sitting at ~42% & that’s with the economy healthy. Imagine if things took a turn for the worst. Or what if Mueller’s reports are damning & leads to trump pardoning family members etc. Imagine the amount of press those impeachment hearings would receive. Even if he’s eventually acquitted, he would take a huge hit politically, especially if 1 or 2 republicans decide to vote with Dems in the trial. They wouldn’t have to beat him outright, just keep it close for a contested convention. I’m not expecting this to happen by any means but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Lmao f---ing cnn I’ll give them props for trying to sue. Curious to see how this works out. I never read exactly what the reporter did, but didn’t Acosta basically verbally attack trump more than asking real questions? At least from what I read on yahoo the reason he was banned was for asking unnecessary questions and saying stuff to get under the presidents skin. Which actually isn’t unconstitutional so idk if you can ban someone just because you didn’t like what they were saying to you. I need to see the real video that wasn’t edited to form my opinion.

for Trump to be vulnerable to a primary challenger he'd have to lose support in his own party. There's simply no sign of that - he's more popular with Republicans now than he was on Election Day, despite his s-----y overall approval ratings. Think how badly a primary challenger would get savaged by Fox and conservative media - look what they did to Jeff Flake and John McCain and (back when ACA repeal failed) Mitch McConnell. And if there's some politician out there who can navigate all of that, I don't see them now. Dems are going to have to beat him in the general

Trump directly intervened in AZ-SEN (fight with Flake, who decided not to seek re-election), SC-1 (Arrington over Sanford) and KS-GOV (Kobach over Coyler). The GOP lost all three.

How are you so indecisive about the federal government banning a reporter from the White House press pool but when it comes to things like private companies banning hateful people from being on their platform, you’re all up in arms about it being unconstitutional lol.

I don’t see what you are bitching about? I agreed it’s unconstitutional to ban a reporter because of freedom of speech. However, just trying to attack and verbally abuse the president isn’t very clever of him either. We’ll see how cnn suing trump turns out. It will probably end up trump winning with the cnn lawyers having to pay trump similar to stormis court case result. But like I said, I am curious to see if cnn can pull this off and am actually on their side on this one and hope they win. Not sure why you’re on a rampage over me this time.
